If you want a wonderful ambiance and a great wine list head over to this amazing little place in Highwood. Cellar Gate has live music outside in the summer w/a great patio and during the winter you can sit by a fire place drinking wine and eating their great apps...it's a must try IMO.
Two cozy rooms with a fireplace in the back, larger live music space in the front, and a huge patio with fire pits and a fountain make this a comfortable place any time of year. There isn't a huge selection of bottles, but enough to entice me to try something new every time. The nibbles are well made, and large enough to constitute dinner. The flatbreads and tomato soup are especially good, and the charcuterie and cheese plates are perfect for sharing or hoarding.
Known for their great wine selection and knowledge, by all means don't miss their food offerings. Wonderful ambiance a credit to their owner.

My friends and I have been meeting here once a year for 8 years for our bookclub. The owner and staff have always been so accommodating, friendly and pleasant, I'm going to truly miss this staple in Highwood🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
