Review Morgan's Island Grill - Hightstown

The Best Jamaican Chicken Jerky 😋. The chicken and ribs are so tender and glazy. We ordered mild spicy and makes it more flavorful to taste. We also had French Fries and Beef and Jerky chicken Patties. The customer service are great and the Chef Morgan👩‍🍳 is so kind and very friendly too.

First time visitor to Morgan's Island Grill and I must say, I've never been a true fan of Jamaican food because of the heat in most of their dishes; however, Morgan's was a great hit with me and my friends. I had the bbq Jerk Turkey wings, Curry Shrimp, Friend Shrimp. All were very tasty and bursting with flavor. The bbq Jerk was a mild flavor (which is perfect for me). I would love to try that on other meats. The curry shrimp was delightful. It had a small amount of heat but it wasnt overpowering at all. Great amount of Shrimp paired with the rice. The fried shrimp as appetizers were freshly fried! I was pleasantly surprised how fresh the shrimp was. Friend perfectly golden brown. I would certainly get those again without a doubt! The garden salad was 👌🏾. I'm just waiting for them to sell the vinegarette in the jars! It was a very delicious. Tangy, yet sweet. Great pairing with the blue cheese and grapes! Most importantly, the customer service was absolute stellar!!! We were served by head chef/owner and his pleasant staff. I only had to get up to push back from the table. The staff ensured we had everything we wanted/needed. Quick food service, even though seafood items were all prepared to order! 5 stars because Morgan Island Grill deserves it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The customer service is great. The food was good as well. That fish soup, though... amazing. It's really hard to pick a favorite - everything we selected on the menu was good..

Morgan's Island Grill is incredible! My husband and I had them for our wedding and it was top notch! My guests felt right back in Jamaica! We are extremely happy and appreciative of your food. I have a love/hate relationship with "jerk" menus because the flavors never seem to meet expectations. A lot of times, we go into a Caribbean restaurant hungry and leave disappointed. But not at Morgan's! What an awesome restaurant! The flavors are simply wonderful and Mr Morgan himself was there to greet guests and check on their experience. I had the Goat Curry Roti and it was literally the size of my head and filled with excellent flavors. Jerk wings were quietly spicy and grew into a forest fire as I ate the whole plate. Just a great, great experience.

Loved this cozy restaurant! The food was delicious! We sat outside after ordering our food. I had the oxtail with rice and peas, cornbread, and a delicious cabbage salad, which was so crunchy and fresh. My husband had goat with the same sides. Everything tasted fresh and honestly took us back to Jamaica. Spices were on point, and what topped it off was the owner taking time to come outside and ask us how the food was. He was appreciative that we were there supporting his restaurant. He shared with us that the food is fresh, no msg is used, only natural spices. Even better! Definitely recommend for a fresh island taste! Really loved this place!

Place hits hard. First time here and enjoyed the spicy jerk chicken. It's fairly hot but I would ask for it hitter next time. Those are lunch plates, large size. Good portions and cool people. Owner is chill 😎

Three stars from me because the lady who took my order was very pleasant. I’ve been trying to find a Caribbean restaurant that I like in Jersey. This place was a miss for me. I did not enjoy the turkey wings. They were supposed to be mild bbq flavored. The meat was tough and way too sweet. The Mac and cheese was okay. I don’t think I will return.

My girlfriend and I enjoy eating at this place. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious (and healthy, too - no msg or salt), the prices are a little high, but you get a LOT of food for the price of the large portion. Also, even though the restaurant is a bit small, it is very quaint and very homely. I highly recommend eating here!

My husband and I absolutely loved this place. The owner and staff were super friendly and the food was out of this world! Would highly recommend this place. Wish we didn't live 9 hours away because we would eat here all the time if we could.

It was later on in the evening so they were down to the end of the pot of goat... the chef took it upon himself to come out and offer me a sampler of both the goat and oxtail. You know someone cares about his guests with that level of service. Great staff, great food...

First time there I went to school with the owner I must say the food was delicious I had the jerk wings an curry chicken with rice n peas with cabbage n cornbread my wife had the oxtails Mac n cheese rice n peas keep the good taste flowing will be back it was well worth the 1 hour drive

Great vibe when you walk thru the door. Very clean low keys environment. Friendly staff. Very tasty island food. If you are in Hightstown run don't walk to Morgan's island grill. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely amazing food. Was recommend to go by another restraunt that was booked. Once we walked in to Morgan's we were immediately greeted with smiling happy employees. The owner came over as well and welcomed us. The food portions were huge and absolutely delicious. My family and I will absolutely be back.

I had the BBQ Jerk Chicken and Ox tails. Both were excellent. The rice and vegetables that accompanied the lunch was tasty with very good flavors. The entire dish tasted fresh. The owner (assuming he was the owner) was extremely friendly and cared that you enjoyed your experience at his restaurant. It was my first time to Hightstown. I picked this restaurant based on the reviews through Google Maps. I'm glad i went. Great experience.

This is the best Jamaican food I have every had in New Jersey. I felt like I was eating inna old Jamaican granny's kitchen. The place is clean and the service was impeccable. This was my first time here, but I will definitely be back. 💜

This is the only place I've ever reviewed on facebook. Hands down the some of the best food I've ever had. Everyone was super friendly, and I can't wait to go again.

What a great place! Food was truly authentic and delicious! I had the jerk chicken meal! Tasted other family members food, like curry chicken, & goat! OMG! Mr. Morgan makes you feel like family! I just need to know if he will ship or overnight some food!

Stopped in and got the jerk chicken lunch today. Reminded me of Negril... great food and friendly people.
