Atmosphere is absolutely fantastic, the waiters were very fast and excellent. As soon as you sit down they hand you fresh hot chips and a very sweet and tangy salsa (which was amazing) and they then gave me a bowl of guacamole which was just as good. I Ordered a chimichanga and flan later after, and let me tell you. The chimichanga tasted as if they cooked everything individually then added it all together to make a fresh and mouthwatering beast of a chimichanga. Then flan afterwards was taken out of a fridge from the front and brought to the back and not long after they brought it out and looked as of it was homemade. The first to the last bite of the flan was absolutely fantastic and it really shows how much they care about the consumers experience. Highly recommend coming here as much as you can. (Drinks were great too)
This is not your regular old Mexican restaurant. Really good food. Fantastic service.
I had the shrimp burrito. It was top notch with a TON of shrimp in it. The beans were very tasty. The salsa had a bit of a smoky flavor and was one of my favorites ever. The guacamole was flavored perfectly and chunky.
They make a very good margarita as well and don't skimp on the tequila!
I'll definitely be back. Worth a stop for sure.

BY FAR THE BEST Mexican food we have had in the United States and Mexico! We travel a lot and we have never had better Mexican food. Enrique who created the menu knows authentic Mexican and you can taste the difference.

So we visited Rainforest Bar and Grill on our way home from TN in July and it was AWESOME! The owner was the only one serving and the restaurant was full but he did an amazing job! With the way the economy is right now and trying to find employees he definitely has stepped up to the plate to keep the restaurant open. With him serving, running the bar, & bussing tables we were surprised at how well he handled it! He gave us a little backstory on when he came to the states and how he started the restaurant. Our food was absolutely delicious and probably some of the best most authentic Mexican food we've ever eaten across 10 different states we've lived in or traveled through! When we go back to visit we will definitely take a detour to sit down here again! Please check him out and give it a try, you definitely won't be disappointed! I had the chicken fajitas and my wife had nachos. The portion sizes were MASSIVE and enough to share! Thank you sir for a great experience and doing everything you can to satisfy the customers!
Amazing place for authentic Mexican food in the area! Enrique is fantastic! He is so incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure every guest is enjoying their experience AND their meal! Highly recommend a pitcher of margaritas! It’s the best deal if you’re with a few people. Also perfect if you want outdoor patio seating!
We were looking for a good Mexican restaurant near our new home in northeast Georgia. After a disappointment or two, we decided to drive the 10 miles to Highlands, NC to give Rainforest a try. The menu, food and margaritas more than met our high expectations and we look forward to returning soon and often.
Great find off the main path! Love the food - we had shrimp tacos, carnitas tacos and chicken enchiladas. Lots of chunks of meat and fresh ingredients. Good bar menu too. Lots of staff working together, and food came out quickly. Only thing I’d like was hotter salsas.
Great and freshly made dishes. Not your ordinary Mexican menu. Next time,I want to try the Chile Relleno Soup 🍲!
Excellent service and great food. I had the groundbeef Tacos Mexicano. Tasty and served with radishes and cucumber on the side. Awesome.

The best Tacos in North Carolina, and the best Mexican restaurant that I have been to outside of Texas. Just a short walk from Main Street and well worth it.

What a fabulous place! It was the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time, sure wish they were in Atlanta! I had chips, salsa, guacamole, flour tortilla tacos that were plentiful, savory without being heavy using extremely fresh ingredients. Their margaritas were unlike any other I’ve ever had, extremely delicious. Combine all that with an inviting atmosphere, love the music, and a cheerful and helpful staff you get a great dining experience. Next time I’m in Highlands I’ll definitely be paying them a visit.
