By far the best chicken fried steak with homemade gravy I've had in the area! (Billy's Oak Acres BBQ is equivalent) The home fried potatoes are seasoned and cooked well with onions and bell peppers and are sliced not diced like most home fried potatoes. The biscuits are made from scratch and may look dry at first glance but are every ounce of moistness when you cut them open and enjoy with their homemade (seems like it) blackberry preserves. The gravy tastes homemade from bacon grease and is on point but also serve sauusage gravy with biscuits which is greatness! I have been 3 times so far, twice getting the chicken fried steak and eggs and once getting the meatloaf. The meatloaf was really good, not traditional with tomatoe sauce top but with their Shiner gravy, wrapped with bacon and onions and bell peppers cooked in the meat. Chef Curtis James is my new favorite chef in the area and cares about the customers as he's been there everytime I've been there and asking folks if they are enjoying the food and one time remade a dish for a customer who had a small complaint. I've been disappointed by places that have chef in their name or have renown chefs operating the restaurant by them using packaged gravy! Chef's Pointe, Chef Blythe's Southern Bistro, and Horseshoe Hill fit in that category! Thank you Chef Curtis James and staff for the wonderful food and dining experience!

Omg YES !!!!! The chicken fried steak is to die for ! Fork tender and never even picked up a knife. Awesome portion sizes too! Thank you so much Dianna !!! You were an awesome server! We will be back to see you VERY soon !!!

We got the Thanksgiving dinner meal to go. Dinner feeds 10 to 12 people. It was so good. More food than we could eat. Was well worth the money. Would recommend to any and everyone!

I'm a customer for life! Had to wait a bit today because they are packed on Fathers Day but the food was awesome as usual and on the house because of the delay(which was made pleasant by our great waitress Dianna)!!! This place is just good food and great people!

Today's breakfast was the best I ever had. I had the special chicken fried chicken with egg. This was spectacular the layers of taste was awesome and I can't wait to go back and have it again!!!!

Every thing I have eaten there is to die for. Their jalapeño corn bread is the best corn bread I have ever had. I also just tried their meatloaf...that shiner bock gravy was so amazing!!!!!

We had the meatloaf and it was delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from scratch. I would recommend this place if you're out in the Haslet area and looking for some great homemade food.

Great Texas Chili � maybe the best I have ever had in a restaurant! Homemade Pickles...scratch food! Pretty Damn Good! And the owner is a car enthusiast to boot!

The spring rolls were amazing, and the bacon, Swiss and mushroom burger was juicy and delicious as well. Great waitress and service, will def come back.

We heard about this place from a Foodie group that we follow and glad we were able to try it! Practically everything on the menu is made from scratch! There were so many options we wanted to try but even our second stomachs were saying NO! Pictured below is the Chicken fried NY steak and eggs plate, breakfast Monte Christo w/ Chipotle raspberry jam that you don't want to skip, and from seasonal menu; Mango French toast.

Had to stockyard omelette with home fries. Now the star of the show was the brisket and Ham. The bacon bites was overcooked for my taste, denture and bad teeth nightmare. I also had the pecan pie. All signs tell and show that it is homemade. Overall a really good place to eat, and a nice setting.

The food portions are huge, the food is amazing, the wait staff are so sweet. Will definitely will go back. The pies were delicious we had lots of food to bring home afterwards.

We had to make a Walmart grocery trip and decided to stop at Texan Diner for a try first. We were promptly greeted and seated, given any choice of the tables. There weren’t too many people inside. Our server was attentive and the food was out pretty quickly, quicker than I figured for a diner anyway. My daughter ordered the kids max and cheese, it was rigatoni-type shells with a cheese sauce. Not the best but not terrible. She didn’t finish it, she normally finishes all of her beloved Mac and cheese. But she said it was because she didn’t want to eat so much cheese. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped meat loaf with Mac and cheese and fries as his two sides. It was tasty! The meatloaf may not have been the freshest though. Those fries were homemade and salted just right. Lastly, I ordered the Texan Cobb Salad. It was huge and had bacon, grilled chicken, avocado, egg, shredded cheese and pico in it. I had it served with home style ranch, delish! They gave me that good ranch, if you know you know. So overall the food was good. Our server didn’t ask if we wanted to take any leftovers with us though (hubby had over half his meatloaf left and a lot of Mac and cheese while I had a ton of salad left as well) before she took our plates away. She was abrupt, but she did fill my husbands tea once. Not a dealbreaker though. Maybe we should come back and try the breakfast since that seems to be what most people order from here. I honestly thought they didn’t serve breakfast all-day so I didn’t even give it a glance.

So much delicious food. You really get your moneys worth. Quick friendly service. I got the lunch special ( chicken parm ). Filled the plate. Very tasty. Down home cooking at a reasonable price. People are very friendly.
