Panaderia Pan Del Cielo

This place has gone down hill fast. Used to be a nice spot that I would frequent weekly. Sadly, as of late the service is extremely slow, the orders are incorrect, and much more importantly the sandwiches are simply lack luster. Bland, bland, bland. I was reluctant to leave this review but my last 3 experiences have been negative. It's unfortunate. I will stick with the New Britain location that is still good.

Aside of the fact that I ordered a cold but received a hot ‘Turkey’ sandwich with a long wait, I didn’t expect .50 cents for mustard. Sandwich 6.99 Lettuce. .50 Tomatoe .50 Onion .60 Mustard .50 Small coffee but actually ‘extra small’ 1.60. So I assume a large is Starbucks price? Come on. Too many options in this small city with double the size of portions. I also didn’t apréciate the response when I questioned price for mustard regarding all bakeries are not the same. Nothing unique about this Puerto Rican bakery in comparison to the dozens of Puerto Rican bakeries I’ve enjoyed from Hartford to Stamford.

Aside from getting my order wrong the food was good, it use to be better though. The service however was not that great. The girl behind the counter had the music blasted, that upon taking my order she had to turn it off. Between the loud music, plexiglass shield, and the mask communication is a little hard. It was unfortunate that due to all those factors she got my order wrong but also through the process I felt rushed when ordering. Spanish is my second language so I tried to communicate with her but upon feeling rushed like I said I just spoke english. It would have been nice to get my pastries before getting my sandwiches but that’s fine, the second lady that having me all of my order was very nice and well mannered. Kinda wish my encounter was with her to begin with. Never the less I will continue to visit because I do enjoy the food !
