Review The Anvil Restaurant - Harpers Ferry

I had an absolutely amazing lunch at the Anvil in Harper's Ferry! The BBQ sandwich was really good and the lava cake was delicious! It was a great break from hitting the trails and not far away from the entrance into the National Park!

Great food, great service! Started off with the warm crab dip, pulled pork for my husband and crab cakes for me (with an amazing side of smoked Mac and cheese), and finished off with a piece of buckeye pie. Great place!

Had a great time at this family friendly place. Honestly found it because of the smoker out front and enjoyed the smoked mac and cheese and the smoked chicken and kielbasa. The pulled pork and other food items were tasty. The place has great A/C and a full bar and seems like the kind of place you want to see start happy hour around 3pm, sit on the porch and enjoy the rest of the night. Old time feel without any of the negatives. Bathrooms and tables and things were all very clean. Staff was friendly and one of them is a Jeeper (like me). Plenty of off street parking. We were warned by a friendly neighbor that the local cops are sticklers for tickets around fire hydrants. Go here for some friendly atmosphere (games playing on the TVs) and good fresh food and you’ll leave with a smile!

Smoked meat! Good down home type meal. The ribs were delicious and so were the sides, sauteed vegetables & mashed potatoes. Our 6yo got chicken tenders and fries. Service was friendly and we enjoyed some live music while we were there.

Excellent food and service. This restaurant has great ambiance and is very close to downtown Harper's Ferry. The pulled pork sandwich 🥪 was outstanding and the bacon wrapped shrimp was really yummy.

Ran out of ribs at 6 pm on Saturday. Wasn't informed until a full half hour after ordered. We ordered a simple sandwich to replace it and it was a solid hour and twenty minutes wait total. I can only guess they put our ticket in again instead of placing it in the line where it was originally turned in. No effort by the restaurant to offer any kind of apology, maybe a free dessert or even a small discount as a way of apology. We live in the area and because of this we will find alternatives for dining. Looking forward to the many new venues that are in the works for Harper's ferry.

Beautiful restaurant at Harper's Ferry VA, very reminiscent of Upper Bucks County PA...excellent burger!

I am always thoughtful of how covid impacted our economy and I am very understanding for a business to struggle with staffing. Our waiter was very polite and professional, but the food took almost an hour to come out to the table...next time I won't wait to eat a bite before I come here again, I saw a couple leave due to lack of service... The actual food wasn't terrible, I had a NJ strip with peppers and double side of potatoes, one for me, one for the kiddos... That takes me to the next problem, I can't entertain a 2 year old for an hour and a half while she sees everyone else get their food and she still has nothing to nibble on...lol Hopefully the service will be a little faster next time...cheers
