Returned to the Village Restaurant location for the first time in years. Experienced the best, most delicious dinner, with attentive friendly service. I returned early the next morning for a sumptuous breakfast, with choice of all homemade breads!. All of this enjoyed in fresh, light, and airy surroundings. The windows afford beautiful and charming views of the clear waters running over rocks in the river below. It is absolutely lovely, the food exceptional, and the menu amazing! Thank you so much!
Had a party of 9, food was hot, fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly, even heard kitchen staff singing and enjoying what she was doing. A little disappointed that they didn't have coconut cream pie, as that was truly the only reason I tagged along. Settled for banana cream and it was just as delicious; if not better. Kudos to y'all!
I'm in town every few weekends, and I now have a standing 8am reservation when I am. The food is fantastic, fresh & homemade-- just like the staff & atmosphere. I'm guaranteed a hug/handshake or two from locals and family on every visit!!
Yep....it's small and cozy. It's busy too. But grab a paper and wait--it's worth it. If you wanted the 10-minute breakfast & go deal-- go somewhere else. At the Village Restaurant it's all about good food... not fast food. And it's about being local, and taking time to enjoy a little bit of small town hospitality.
Yeah... I'm going back. Alot. :)

Always great food�Good service even when extremely busy. Sad I didn’t get to try the maple cake. Hopefully next time. A favorite place of mine knowing the people and getting to know the newer ones.
The food is ALWAYS delicious and the staff is always friendly! My favorite place in Hardwick! 😉

We visit every time we go to VT. Tammy is such a great waitress we have a good time. Pot roast is to doe for, oh heck we've NEVER had a bad meal. And the coffee is always fresh brewed.

Staff was super friendly. Food came out hot and fresh. View of the river is amazing.
Food was good. Corned beef hash & eggs. French toast on the side. Excellent waitress. I got it to go and ate around the corner at the picnic table area. Really nice view. Hash was a little overcooked, potatoes were slightly burnt but overall was a decent breakfast.

The skillets were excellent. Do yourself a favor come here, skip regular egg orders that you can get at any diner and get yourself a skillet! Super filling. Blueberrry pancakes were also delicious.
So delicious! They have great options which made it hard to decide. Got pulled pork bbq sandwich with coleslaw directly on sandwich. It came with handcut seasoned fries and was very filling and tasty. Also shared pancake with my cousin. It was served with Vermont maple syrup. I want to go back and try everything else. Service was superb. The server was super friendly and helpful.

It is homemade food, a small corner in the heart of Hardwick VT, a family business run by its own owners who will make you feel at home, it also has a large parking lot, you will like to treat yourself and take advantage of it. enjoy 🥂
Excellent diner, friendly fast service, and generous portions. The view of the river is amazing. Worth seeking out if you're gonna be in the area and want a delicious breakfast. I'm sure dinner and lunch are equally wonderful, but I've only been here for breakfast. Parking is behind the restaurant
Great place to eat and share conversation. Locals hangout, good food, lots of seating, and if you a fortunate enough to be seated in a booth overlooking the Lamoille River, great view! Staff is friendly and service is quick. Best part about the meals is their homemade bread and goodies. Parking can be a bit of a hassle. Hours are 5 to 8.
It’s a beloved local institution, everything on the menu is good, and people in this part of Vermont live in constant fear that one day fire or flood will take it away. But it is ***slow.*** It’s not like an ordinary diner. It’s always packed. They make the food from scratch. Clear a couple of hours to eat here. Bring books and games to pass the time. It’s worth it. It’s pure Vermont! There, you’ve been warned.
What a great place. Seated quickly and allergies accommodated without hesitation. Took a bit for the food to arrive but well worth it.
Had a hankering for some blueberry pancakes and shreds, and my delightful partner brought me here. I almost couldn't decide on what to order-- talk about a gigantic menu where everything looks delicious. I did end up on blueberry pancakes and shreds, and forgot to snap a pic before I started eating. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in the area for a bite to eat. I'll be back for lunch AND breakfast.
You can't match the view and the customer service. Food is basic but they got me in and out and prioritized me because i told them that I had a meeting in a half hour. Wonderful people from a wonderful town.
The food was good, not a fancy restaurant but it was priced appropriately so they get five stars. The waitresses are on top of keeping your coffee mug ☕ full. I had like four cups without realizing it as they were busy and I was distracted.

A very authentic and native restaurant with friendly staff and good food.
The eggs were made very well and the vegetarian pizza was delicious but heavy for mornings.
