Good food.....great value
The barbeque is really good. The perfect amount of smoke. The prices are reasonable. No frills atmosphere, but clean and inviting. We've had almost everything on the menu and its all good. The baked potato is huge and they offer a stuffed version that's very good.
We stop by here one to two times a month for the past 8 years. They have some of the best BBQ in town. In my opinion the best meat here is the pulled pork. They do BBQ correctly (dry), the meat is smoked over a pit. You can add the sauce if you want some, I would suggest the sweet sauce. The sides are OK, but you are given so much meat, you are full before you get to the sides.
We came and got the brisket the beans. Boyfriend got the potato salad and I got a loaded baked potato. It was the best in town. No knife required for the brisket. Only down fall is that I am not a fan of vinegar based BBQ sauce.
The gator sausage was awesome. This is a great BBQ joint. Loved everything we had. Not a tourist place. We love it, and will be back there soon.
Very good brisket, beans and coleslaw. I haven't had any of the ribs or pork shoulder yet..that will probably happen tomorrow. It is a very family type environment. If you grew up down south, don't worry about the BBQ sauces they describe on the website. They aren't as vinegary as a Carolina BBQ sauce, they are sweet and the regular sauce has just a little bit of spicy hot to it.
The restaurant is a little off the beaten path, the best way I could tell you how to get there is,"Go to Shooters in Harahan, turn around...there it is."
Food is great service is okay! They let you get beer at the kamp which is literally 10 steps next door. So all and all a great experience.
