I got the fried shrimp poboys, bread was tough but the shrimp was good. Around 7-8 shrimps in the poboy. would go to a different one

I tried the Roast Beef Po Boy a while back, two stars for them being friendly and welcoming. The Roast Beef was real beef but not seasoned well and also dry, I am use to seasoned roast beef with gravy they runs down ya arm! The messy good stuff! I am going to go back and try the shrimp and I hope the bread is like Leimenhiemer & I hope the shrimp batter sticks to the shrimp! I will take pics and update this review of it! I want to also try the Cuban! Will do a video and post to my YouTube channel as well!

Great food! Love the potato sala, the cabbage and the corn bread dressing! Perfect mom and pop styled home cooking.

I heard about their Cuban sandwich. So I stopped in to try it. I was impressed. I love a family owned and ran eatery like this. Locals talking to the cooks. Everyone knew each other and you should have seen the fried chicken coming out of the kitchen!!

Ordered a Roast Beef Po Boy, it was dryer than the Mohave desert. When you want a roast beef Po Boy you want some good gravy smothered flavorful overflowing shredded roast beef that will make you clamor for more, what you get is plain, dry, unexciting, unseasoned roast beef on a just as dry 2 day old bread. The club Sandwhich had an odd taste and the potatoes salad was so full of onion you might as well just eat a whole onion raw.

Good food...prices arent too bad. Kind of an old school feel to the place. Which is quite pleasant sometimes. Definitely worth the visit here to eat.

Fantastic! Beautiful country fried steak with potatoes and mac and cheese! My husband loved the fried chicken, in fact, he said it tastes like his grandmother's. Excellent!

Good but expensive. Got a shrimp platter $21.00 with a drink and a dozen shrimp - finding another place. Rather more shrimp and 1 side.

Good food. This is your typical new orleans poboy shop. The menu offers serveral daily special lunch plates too. I love the fried catfish, Two nice filets, lightly floured, fried and served with 2 sides, I got the slaw (tangy, light mayo) and potato salad (creamy no chunks of potato) for $8.50 but the fountain drink and tax takes it up to under $12. I like their red beans and sausage but it is inconsistent depending on how old they are. When fresh they have just the right amount of red bean juice, sometimes the beans get dried out and become thicker on the plate. Poboys are decent. I find that the ratio of meat to bread is OK. They don't overload the sandwich but it has enough. The bread is the key and they have the perfect traditional french bread which makes for a great roast beef poboy, and I like his beef, tender and sliced thin with the perfect gravy consistency oozing off the sides. Parking is very limited, but the place is pretty big with plenty of tables, Go early for lunch or after the lunch crowd, Order and pay at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table so they can bring it to you. I've had their salads, not great, their gumbo, just ok. I like their spaghetti and meatballs too, not overloaded with garlic and sauce is a very good traditional thick tomato gravy (avoiding that awful sugar sweet flavor) Definitely worth a stop if you need some place to eat in the neighborhood.

Good atmosphere and staff, not so good as far as the four items I tried. Mac n cheese out of a box. The "so good" green beans tasted like they had been dumped from a can into my container. The cuban had so many fatty undesirable pieces, it totally turned me off. The 1/2 shrimp 1/2 oyster Poboy was fine, but by no means the best. I really want to like this place but...I will try them again b/c I think maybe it was just an off day.

Good food. I love the Harahan location. I work in the area and we frequent this place often for lunches. The food is always consistent even though the service is a lil off (ex. on numerous occassions they have brought out my french fries when I was more than halfway finished my poboy). They have some of the best catfish I have ever tasted. Also, make it a point to try their mac n cheese w/ gravy. You will be glad you did.

Unsatisfied. Not a good place to eat. The food has way to much salt and other spices.....
