Had lunch Freddy's today and everything about it was top-notch. The Calamari appetizer was perfection and my French Dip sandwich (a special) was better than any that I've had in easily 25 years. One of my companions ordered the Steakburger and he loved it (and he is a burger fanatic), and the other ordered the Ribeye. The steak was juicy and cooked to perfection, and actually tasted like quality beef (not so easy to find anymore unless your upping the real big bucks). Our waitress was flawless. We will be returning to Freddy's often in the future!
On Friday May 18, 2018, I had the pleasure of having Lunch with a friend..I have lived in Hessville for a long time and had never been to Freddy;s Steakhouse..to say the least it was an Awesome experience..The service was Fantastic, the food was very good, and the prices were very good..I met the owner and Jim is a very nice down to Earth guy..I will be back and I will recommend Freddy's to Everyone I know... Thank you..
First time there , it was like stepping into the movie set of Goodfellas,loved it,the wife had the filet medallions tender and juicy,I went with the fried chicken the best I have ever had,our waitress debbi was the awesome ,always checking with us to ensure our happiness, I can't wait to try their prime rib, we will be back

Celebrating my obtaining US citizenship. I work in downtown Chicago and have been to all the "fancy" chop houses, but let me tell you that Freddy's is the best steak by far. Love the cozy old school ambience. The waitstaff was amazing. Highly recommend for a great meal with quiet dignity and no gimicks!!!!
My favorite all time dining experience. Waitress staff is very friendly. We only dine here on special occasions and holidays. Great food every time we've ordered. Very quaint and cozy atmosphere. Love this place!

Great food, good people! You won't find a better cut of meat in the Region. Hint: Ask for the roasted garlic to go with the bread.
Took my husband here for his birthday last night and the food was delicious. The chicken broth soup was yummy and on point. The service was wonderful and the staff was very respectful and made sure we were satisfied with our food. We will be back again :)

It was like stepping back in time but in a good way. Everything from the old school deep red vinyl booth seats, white paper table cloth and cloth napkins to the inviting bar. We were sat right away and the maitre d was very pleasant and accommodating even though we did not have a reservation on a Saturday night over Valentine's weekend. Our service throughout the night was prompt and pleasant. Waters were topped off quickly and a complimentary warm loaf of bread along with fresh veggies with a tasty dipping sauce came before the salads. Both were excellent. I ordered their 16 oz. ribeye with grilled veggies (slight up charge for the veggies but worth it) and my daughter ordered the spaghetti and meat sauce that she enjoyed quite well. I was pleasantly surprised that you get a cup of soup, I recommend their broccoli cheese, and a salad (not one or the other) with the steak dinner. The salads were fresh and consisted of bib lettuce and veggies . I ordered the blue cheese dressing on my salad and it came with a small cup of excellent bleu cheese crumbles along with a separate cup of creamy bleu cheese dressing. A nice extra touch. I had their house cab with my steak which was tasty and a generous pour. The steak came just as I ordered it, medium rare and on an iron skillet. The steak had a simple salt and pepper seasoning, it was juicy and not too fatty. Quite good. For dessert my daughter ordered their Valentine's special heart shaped cheese cake for two and it was over the top good. We are in from out of town and am very thankful our hotel recommended the place.
Waitress was excellent, great personality, had the ribeye it was cooked perfectly could have been seasoned better. I loved the nostalgic feel of the place. It was refreshing to find such a gem in the cess pool that is Hammond, Indiana

Started with a sampler appetizer and baked oysters. We moved on to the soup then salad. I had the pan seared Waleye with double baked potato. He had a crusted Parmesan whitefish . It was all fabulous!!!!!
The atmosphere is rich and dark with an old gangster meeting ambiance that I love from the old days; I hope they never change that!
Jackie, our server, is definitely great with people and we just like her.

I must say that I have been patronizing Freddy's for over 25 years and the still love it. I made a reservation for valentines day and everything went great. The food was great as i always get the pork chops. The only negative things were whoever they hired to sing that night was awful. He actually tried to sing a Prince song that had us laughing so hard we cried. The second issue I didn't like was the policy that our check included a 18% gratuity for a table of two. I don't like that even if we get terrible service our wait staff still gets money that they don't deserve. Honestly, if they are guaranteed a 18% tip then nothing there to ensure that customers get great service. When you take that away from the customers, you put us in a position to take that liberty back. We do that find a restaurant that respects a customers right to pay according to the service they receive. If that's the job they choose to do then no one is obligated to pay for bad service and that's what this policy does. That one policy alone will have me going elsewhere for a nice meal.
Thanks over 363,000 hits on my reviews.. Been 15 years since I was there. Easter dinner, very nice. Very good prime rib, med rare yum. Good salad ranch dressing was extra good. I think my French onion soup is better, but ? Lol. My twice baked potato was very good. 70s style steak house and big booths nice. No covid speed tables my only real complaint. Service slightly erratic, lol, but polite.
