Murphy's Seafood Restaurant

I ordered fried mushrooms as appetizer and the seafood platter for my entree. Fried mushrooms weren't a flour based batter. Im not sure what it was but I enjoyed the variation. Crispy. Mushrooms were good size and were not soggy. The seafood platter was tasty. I didn't eat the French fries. I did not enjoy the crab cake. Personal tastes I suppose. It was cooked properly and fresh. The oysters were good size and fried to perfection. The house made tartar sauce was amazing. The hushpuppies were ok. The catfish was delicious. I just added lemon juice and tartar sauce. My favorite. Free wifi. Waitresses were kind. Bathrooms were clean.

The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing. My boyfriend bragged about how good the food was the entire time we were at the restaurant. The waitress was so polite and she went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable. We will definitely be going back soon. Thank you Murphy's Seafood Food staff for an amazing meal.

We just had an excellent experience at Murphy's Seafood as we were passing through. The bartender/waitress was absolutely amazing. The salad bar was to die for. I could have only gotten the salad bar, and been completely satisfied. Our fried seafood platter consisted of oysters, catfish, a crab cake, hush puppies, and french fries with excellent, homemade tartar and cocktail sauces. Prices were reasonable. $20 for the entire seafood platter which we split and had plenty left over, and only $4 to add the all-you-can-eat salad bar to an entree. Very pleased with our experience at Murphy's today.

It been a very long time since I’ve been to Murphy s. I was a regular there during my school days. I’ve been wanting to go back and we finally did. I was very disappointed. Service was just ok. Waitresses were more worried about chatting at the bar than checking on us. My wife and had boiled shrimp and a salad which she said was good. We had fried mushrooms for an appetizer and they were good. I had the seafood platter as my meal and it was a joke. Very small portion for the price. The food itself was not cooked very well with the breading crumbling off it and just not seasoned very well. Murphys use to have an old family charm to it, now it’s just a generic restaurant that does not stand out in any way. My guest had the spaghetti which if I didn’t know better looked and tasted like it came from a can. Sorry Murphys, you’ve lost that loving feeling.
