Hyde's Restaurant

The menu presents a wide variety of taste preferences. It is a great family restaurant to begin traditions meeting together to discuss the week's events. Prices are comparable and better often. Pies are homemade... and best of all... the GRAVY IS MADE FROM SCRATCH. I have been going there decades and I cannot recall a single time I was disappointed... my family as well. We need to support family owned businesses like this! My parent's first date was there so many years ago. This is the place you want to try!

So, I am from rural northeast Texas and grew up on diners like this. The place was poppin' on a Friday morning. I was greeted warmly invited to sit where I'd like. Audrey was my server and her and the rest of gals on the floor were working so hard getting food out and making sure everyone was taken care of. My coffee cup was hot and never empty. My breakfast was tasty too and this my first time try goetta. Well done, Hyde's!

I was excited to find an old school diner like this close to me. Service was great, but I couldn't give them a 5 star because some of my food was undercooked. I ordered a western omelet with hashbrowns, and a small biscuit n gravy. Unfortunately the vegetables in the omelet weren't really cooked at all, and the hashbrowns were not crispy. I think maybe throwing the vegetables on a flat top grill for a few minutes to cook them would solve that issue. The biscuit and gravy were quite good, and everything flavor wise was good. I'll definitely give them another chance.

Traditional Mom and Pop restaurant ambience. My guest and I arrived a wee bit after they closed and they were kind enough to accomodate us. We had the roast beef special with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Very flavorful and the portions were ample. I had not been here in several years and it was good to see that Hyde's had remained relatively unchanged. The service staff were personable and pleasant to interact with. So many of Hamilton's landmark restaurants have gone away. It is refreshing to have one still standing.

We drove over from Indy to experience this restaurant and we were not disappointed! The biscuits and gravy were on spot as well as the grits with cheese. The table next to us had French toast and it looked delicious as well. The staff was also super friendly and attentive. We ended up taking three pies home with us after hearing how great they were. So glad we did! The apple crumble, peach, and chocolate cream pies were all amazing. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner!!!
