Review Slates Restaurant & Bakery - Hallowell

Went for Sunday brunch with the wife, and had a great time. We didn't have a reservation but were able to be sat right away. The service was amazing! I ordered the lobster eggs Benedict and the lady ordered a breakfast sandwich. Both were superb, some slices of pie later and some mimosas/screwdrivers later and we were on our way feeling good and planning to come back again soon!

The entire experience was great! The staff was very friendly and attentive, the artsy eclectic dining room was fun, and dinner was truly wonderful! The pacing was perfect from drinks to dessert. And the food: creative, delicious and cooked to perfection. Looking forward to our next visit!

I could not have asked for a better meal, service, or ambiance!!! Slate's is simply OUTSTANDING!!! The food, made to order, was fresh and beyond delicious. I never take pictures of my food, but it was so good that I paused to take this picture so I could always remember this experience! If you're visiting or live in Maine, go to Slate's. No matter where you are, it's worth the drive!

I had birthday dinner for a special friend. Very nice service. Server was very kind and took extra care to box up leftovers and extra to-go desserts. Very nice vibe and a delicious menu.

Great food and amazing service. Worth considering making reservations in advance. A local operation that utilizes local businesses as well. The resulting quality is superb.

Fresh & delicious food and baked goods.

Enjoyed my first meal at Slate’s this evening with some friends who have been visiting from out of town (safely quarantined before dining out, of course). We’ve tried some other local restaurants, and all have been great, but their response was: “This was the best spot yet!” I’m happy to live less than 3 miles away and can definitely see myself dining here often (alone, even). All of our meals were better than expected (tomato & basil fettuccine, lentil burger, country chicken pie), the drinks were strong, and the desserts were a scrumptious ending. Our waiter was attentive without being aggressive. He was friendly and personable, with good recommendations when requested. Thanks for a delicious dining experience!!

Hot cider on a chilly day... Flatiron steak basil eggs Benedict was all amazing!!! Oh and coconut blueberry bread.. I also ate strawberry rhubarb pie... No pic. We stopped in bakery next door for pumpkin chocolate chip cookie.. Must visit this place again!!!
