Sunny's Chicken

Make it yourself and it's expensive and you may sustain an injury. YES,I know that 100 years ago my Great Grandmother Mollie could and did go out into the yard and capture a chicken. She would have it on the table as Sunday lunch in 45 minutes flat. I don't keep chickens. I don't have the acreage. It's likely that you do not either. Head to Sunny's. Just get the chicken. Skip the sides. The place is take out only. It was very clean. The staff absolutely friendly and ON IT.

Ordered online which was very easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Read all the great reviews so I was looking forward to trying the strips and gizzards. Well the strips were pretty tough, dry and overcooked. Gizzards were greasy and tasted mostly of oil so not good there either. Mashed potatoes were pretty tasteless. Overall I will not be eating here next time I’m in town.

Absolutely LOVE Sunny's Chicken. We order at least once a month, and the fried chicken tenders and fried okra is a family staple!! We go boating almost every weekend in the summer, and we always order Sunny's chicken to snack on and it's even delicious cold!! Great little hole in the wall kinda spot. You won't be disappointed.

I had read the reviews of this place and decided to give it a try as compared to the usual fast food chicken places. The reviews were promising. However, after trying the meal, I was very disappointed. Starting with the chicken, it was overcooked and dry. The breading was so hard I had to remove it before I could finish it. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and there was barely enough gravy to fill a spoon, (which was sad as it was quite good). The onion pedals were more like onion skin pedals, (almost couldn't even tell it was onions at all). The chicken livers, ( which was what seemed to be the best item, based on the reviews I read) were very disappointing. Out of the order, there were a couple of nice sized livers, (which were very tasty), but the rest of the order seemed as if it was what was left over in the fryer after a long day. The biscuits were hard and tasted burned. The only thing that was impressive was the fried okra which was very favorable and nice size pieces of okra. All in all, a very disappointing experience.
