La Trattoria Italian Restaurant

I was leading by example - keeping our money close to home by eating at a local, family-owned restaurant. Others have not disappointed; however, we were sorely disappointed. While dining at La Trattoria, at least seven people were inside walking around unmasked. I pulled aside one of the owners to talk about it and was told simply, “I can’t do anything about that,” as she walked away, unapologetically. Actually, you can do something about it. In fact, you’re expected to do just that. I think education from Johnson County Health Department - Indiana is necessary here in the egregious case where the owners don’t even ask patrons to don a mask. As I was leaving, I was verbally assaulted by another owner, Tom. Tom told me that he had my name on the credit card slip and would sue me for harassment. Okay, Tom, go for it. I’d like to see you sue me for asking that you honor a mask mandate from Governor Eric Holcomb. It’s hard for me to fathom a business who needs local support but who doesn’t care about exposing his or her customers to COVID. I don’t know how many of his customers walked away after seeing him go into a rage on me at the front entrance, but he sure did bring attention to himself. I can say now that I will NEVER return to La Trattoria unless it falls under new ownership. I’ve never been so disrespected at a business in all my life. Total disregard for the law and for the safety of customers.

La Trattoria came highly recommended. Decided spur of the moment to try it. Our server was excellent and attentive. Sadly, the pasta left us wanting. We had 3 different types of pasta. Each was bland and mostly flavorless. The sauces helped but did not rescue the dishes. Overall an experience that did not leave us wishing to return.

Just a heads up for anyone who goes to LA TRATTORIA IN GREENWOOD... I’m NEVER one to bash places EVER but tonight this hit me hard. My husband and I ALWAYS choose la trattoria for date nights when have time, or really any opportunity we get our family loves this place.. So here goes.. Tonight we wanted to surprise my dad with dinner for his birthday, he loves steak. So we placed a huge order, well over 300 dollars for our entire family to have a nice meal at home for my dads 50th birthday. I walked in paid, and they carried our food to my car, with my husband, and son in the car as well. It was already bagged so I trusted that everything was there. I get home we are missing an entire meal, (salad, steak, and side). As soon as we got home we sat the table with all the meals out, and mine is missing, so I call and tell them our whole meal is missing, they give the phone to the chef. He is ABSOLUTELY DISRESPECTFUL saying things such as “did it just vanish into thin air because I would never make a mistake”, “you aren’t being truthful because I checked it myself”, he was not kind at ALL! I was not expecting this response at all! Anytime we go there everyone is usually over kind, and so so respectful. I am literally blown away. I gave the phone toy husband because I couldn’t believe I was being talked to that way. He said “I can’t remember the last time I was yelled at like a child” , he screamed at jacob saying we were lying and just trying to get a free meal. We told them we were willing to bag everything up and bring it back and he said that we were lying and probably got rid of it. We could’ve chose ANY PLACE DOWNTOWN, but we chose to support small , and this is what we get! Y’all. This is usually me and My husbands GO TO PLACE, and we will NEVER GO BACK. EVER. The owners are still completely backing the chef saying that he didn’t say those things, and keeps saying we are lying. The owner (wife) kept saying “I kept giving the phone to my boyfriend” making assumptions that jacob is my boyfriend and like I’m not married, and 25 years old with a child. So that being said, my dads birthday dinner was ruined!
