My exploration of NC BBQ continues. Heard About this place, heard about it, heard about it lol. Finally got here. The aroma hits you before you can even get close . Cars all over the place ! . It's worth the ride or the trip. Had BBQ Dinner. Very Good ! If you're in the area and like or love BBQ you've gotta get here
My absolute favorite!!. I've lived in eastern NC all my life. My dad worked next door to one BBQ restaurant and across the street from another. I've eaten BBQ all over NC and in Texas, Memphis, SW US, and in Kentucky. B's barbecue is my favorite hands-down. I prefer the plates to the sandwiches. Chicken great, too! Ribs (when lucky enough to have had them--they go quickly) are phenomenal.
Please B's--don't change and don't go away!!
She's Not Much To Look At, But You Don't Come Here To Look. Simply one of the very best Eastern NC BBQ joint there is, and has ever been. The iconic stature of this place is a combination of how great the BBQ is, and the fact that there is only so much pork available each day, and when it is gone, you either eat the BBQ chicken or you go to McDonalds.
This is a relatively small place seating-wise and parking-wise - at the peak you can have vehicles park in the lot, on B's BBQ RD, and on the road it dead-end's into. There are blue collars here, white collars here, no collars here - they all come, and most come early. Most go inside, but there is a walk up window for take out.
If you love NC BBQ, you really need to try what they produce here - it has more heat than almost any other BBQ I know of, and it incredibly consistent in it's outstanding taste.
The BBQ is amazing!!! We where in Greenville from Wisconsin visiting family, and everytime we get there I have to go to B's as soon as we get there. (And before leaving we buy just the BBQ to freeze and take back to wisconsin). Don't believe the few bad reviews this place is an amazing establishment!!! And this is North Carolina you are not going to get the "normal" thick sugary BBQ sauce!!!
First stop on a BBQ mini-safari. I have been wanting to get to more eastern bbq places for some time and finally got my chance. B's was the first stop. Everyone says it so I will too: the site looks and feels like a dive...and then cars and trucks start showing up around 11:00 and park any-and-every where they can. With good reason. You might be able to argue (but only a tiny bit) about the Kingsford-charcoal vs hard wood coals Q but you'll not get a finer classic eastern bbq meal (service, sides, seating) in many places. Everything was excellent and served in heaping portions. The large platter fed my family and I quite sufficiently (considering that we had to save a bit of room for the next stop) with 1/2 chicken, a load of Q, green beans and potatoes. And oh those corn sticks! As of now, B's has my favorite eastern NC sauce. Nice little kick at the end of the bite.
Decent BBQ, I have had better. sides are nothing special. It is very popular with the locals.

I have tried B's and it is decent no frills Q. It has a great locals cult following but it's not in same league as skylight or Clyde coopers. It's a decent quick lunch so give it a try.
Fabulous. There is no other word to describe B's. It's just fabulous barbecue. The food products are always consistent, as is the environment. You really get to experience the local culture in it's natural setting. There is no better barbecue than this!
Great food! There's a reason it's #1 in Greenville! The only thing I was not happy with is that I waited too long before deciding to eat here and the fact you have to have cash. Very good and would recommend to anyone who likes to eat!
Excellent food but they make their barbecue before the restaurant opens every day and, when the barbecue runs out they shut down. This can be at noon or at 3 p.m. But usually not after about this time, so go early.
Love it. Their chicken might be even better than their pork. Nowhere else can you pull in and see the 2011 Lexus & 500 series BMW parked right next to the 1972 Crown Vic & 85 F150. EVERYBODY loves B's. Get there early or they'll run out.
Was driving through town and saw a long line in front of this little hidden gem! Decided to stop and check out the excitement! Fried chicken sold out (bet that was yummy) but I was there for a BBQ Sandwich, which didn't disappoint and I added a few corn sticks! Heck Ya, perfect spot for lunch!
Food is excellent and the wait is not too long. Well worth the driving from Raleigh. True smoked Eastern North Carolina BBQ had its finest.
This is truly a hidden gym down in Greenville. I don’t get to come here often but when I do it’s just as delicious as the last.
This popular spot is worth the visit, just make sure you get there early because once they sell out, that’s it for the day.
The charcoal smoked chicken is worth getting for that delicious crispy skin. It’s light on the seasoning so the charcoal taste is primary.
Service is as good as it gets. This is true small-town southern hospitality.
Colleagues invited us here, as this was Greenville's best Barbecue. They did not lie. We had the mixed plate, with barbecue and chicken, which both were great. The meat was just perfect. The coleslaw was good as well. I definitely want to go here again!
The interior could probably use an upgrade. However, as you go here for the food... The food was just great.
They only accept cash I heard. So be careful, and go early.. Apparently they run out of meat, fast.

I went 5/29/21 while I was waited for the doctor to discharge my mother from hospital. My manager recommended this place. She said it was just a hole in the wall but they had good food although she had not been in some years. It was 4 minutes from the hospital in a residential neighborhood. There was no marked or designated parked so I parked along the road. You stand outside in a line, walk up to the window and place your order. The guy at the window was fast and smooth, moving the line quickly. The regulars that came up he called their usual orders out to them if they were next in line. You pay (cash only) once your food is ready. They were moving two to three people at a time depending on the size of their order. There are plenty of seats with umbrellas. If someone in line needed to sit everyone knew where to form the line respecting that persons place in line. I ordered a bbq sandwich (3.99) with coleslaw and a half a pound of bbq (total $8 and change). They give you a vinegar based sauce which really makes the bbq. If not for the sauce I would have given 3 stars and I am comparing their bbq to our hometown bbq from Nixons Catering so with the sauce this definitely competes. I didnt get to taste the sandwich, my brother who stated that he doesnt eat pork (not for religious reasons but because it gives him headaches) decided he was hungry and eating my sandwich for free was better than going to the cafeteria. I asked him how was it and he said it was really good, meaty, didnt have a lot a vinegar and it did not give him a headache afterwards. Plus he loved the price for the size of the sandwich. Would I go here again? Absolutely. I just have to have the vinegar if I get bbq. A lot of people in line were getting the bbq and half a chicken so I will try that the next time. I tried another bbq place out on the same day in Winterville, paid $8 for 1 bbq sandwich and will never go back there for pulled pork again. Go to B's but dont forget the sauce.
The entire experience was excellent. Get there early. We got there 11:45 a.m. and they ran out of chicken about two people after us. And the pork barbecue is really great, clean not fatty or bristly. It is vinegar sauce which we prefer. And loved the hush puppies (corn pone, really).
The BBQ Chicken is outstanding. The pork is eastern style and good, not the best. Sides and corn sticks were great as well. Would go back just for the chicken.
