Review Bruster's Real Ice Cream - Greenville

The ice cream was fantastic as usual but the hired help left something for the imagination. They were all about 16-18 years old and were more interested in talking and cutting up than serving customers. The people working there would be more interested in helping out if they were a bit older.

AVOID THIS PLACE! You would get more tips if you didn't ask every customer for tips. I went by here to cheer myself up with a sundae because my uncle just passed away. I got one ice cream and the kid at the register asked me if I wanted to tip him. If I wanted to tip you I would leave it on the receipt. It is inappropriate to ask customers to tip you. What do you do to the food when you don't get tipped?? Threw out my $6 sundae. Thanks for making my day that much worse.

There is a tip jar at the window. There is a sign that reads, “Tips Appreciated.” They aggressively ask for tips at the window. If you do not tip they will give you poor and sloppy service. Obviously management or the owners are supporting this behavior. Here’s your tip: Stop asking for tips for doing your job. If I go to a restaurant my waiter or waitress takes my order, brings me my food and drink, checks on me while I eat, gets me anything else I may need, sometimes even clears the table. You know what they don’t do? They don’t ask for tips. Suggestion: Go to Dairy Queen instead of this chain.

For a spontaneous trip for icecream it was pleasant. Definitely quicker to order from the window then drive-thru.

I went on Tuesday afternoon to order a ice cream cake, the employee who took the order was very nice and was polite but not when I came back on Thursday to pick up my order I was received with very bad unprofessional news. A worker was confused when I said I was here to pick up a cake. She then took about 5 minutes or 10 to I guess get the cake or to check it. But she came back telling me that the cake was never even finished and that the person who was making it didn’t even finish it. Now I came two days ahead to order it and they gave me a time so I know when to pick it up. I came at 2 a hour later after the original time which was at 1 to get the cake, so I gave them 1 hour to still have time because I was running late. The other employee said that I could get a discount and that the manager was coming up there to finish it. She said that I could come back in 1 hour. Now first of all it’s later in the day so the person I’m giving it to has to wait even longer, I have plans too you know?! Second of all I already had payed for the cake when I ordered it. Third of all the manager has to fix this up because of a unqualified employee did this mess. No it is totally so unprofessional and not right at all. I payed 30.00 for this cake expecting it to be on time and ready. Never coming back to this Brusters ever again. I will spend my money somewhere else. Also the employee that was there when I came to pick up the cake was very loopy from the beginning.

Delish. Right now 5/13, you can only use the drive through. The wait was really long but worth it.

I have been going to this location for almost 5 years. I agree with previous reviewers about the fact that there is no consistency in service, punch cards or pints/quarts. I have had very good service and also poor experiences in which the employees did not know what they were out of or acted like they did not want to be there. It seems no one knows how the free item works on the punch cards. I never know whether I will get charged for 2 pints or a quart when I order 2. I have tried to be understanding of this because the ice cream is so good. I actually think they put too much stuff in the flavors! I want to taste the ice cream! However, this past Monday evening I actually had both poor service and poor quality ice cream/ices. What a huge disappointment.

The Pumpkin cream cheese ice cream is the best
