Kroll's West

Went for lunch with my boyfriend during his workday. I had chili and the turkey club. It was very fresh. Bread was toasted perfect. Chili didn't make the photo reel; I'm ate it up too fast. I'm sorry to say but this was a horrible experience. I'm not one to complain because I realize that many places are struggling to find help. When we arrived though not swamped, we were greeted by a sign that said seat yourself. We had 4 grandchildren in tow so we needed a booth. The only one available had been recently used.. we were told my the elderly lady in the hostess area to press a button on top of the booth and someone would be with us shortly.. when 10 minutes went by and we cleaned the table ourselves I knew we should have left. You know how it is when you have hunger and just want to eat. Finally after 15 minutes our waitress that we saw only twice took our drink order. Upon returning 5 minutes later with those, and. To take our order. The waiting game began. Have you ever tried to keep 4 hungry children and a hungry man entertained? 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 35 minutes, nothing... not even someone checking to see if the drinks we had needed to be refilled! So... we stopped a different waitress to ask where our food was. Now what we ordered were Mac n cheese 3 chicken strip dinners with fries. 2 basic burgers and shrimp scampi. She came back 10 minutes later to say that it would be 10 more minutes! If you do the math that's over an hour for that!! Then when our food arrived it was the most awful food I'd ever seen. The burgers were cardboard looking disks of yuck as you can see in the photos. The strip of chicken were as hard as rocks. And, my scampi.. the shrimp so over cooked and burnt with a clump of I don't know what lying underneath!!! We actually walked out without eating. Mind you we did let the very unapologetic excuse ridden manager know we were not paying for our entrees. So sorry to say. By far the worst restaurant in Wisconsin!

Stopped in Green Bay for lunch on our way home. Vicki was fantastic and didn’t even hold the fact that we’re from Minnesota against us. She recommended the Kroll’s Big K burger and it was cooked to perfection. Not a huge selection of beer but they did have some stuff from Titletown Brewing and it’s always fun to try local beer.

Very happy with the food but the service was awful. Was not busy at all (and not right before close) when I went but once I got my food no one ever stopped by again. I had to get up and find a to-go box, no refill for the water. Lady at check out was in a foul mood… I’d still come back for the chili though!

Kroll's West has been one of my all time favorite places to eat. Our meal was fantastic and the company I was there enjoyed their meal also. I got to see Vicki a Waitress that has been working at Kroll's for 63 years, what a lovely lady she is and always has been. The downside was the prices have gone sky high since Covid hit.
