Great Mediterranean restaurant with traditional ambiance but modern taste.
Lovely flavors and great composition. The malawach flatbread was great, so was the hummus.
Good service by Allie, great company. Highly recommended.
Such a delicious meal with an excellent dining experience. Every dish was bright and worked well with each other all while being unique in flavor. Taste fatigue was not a problem at this restaurant. Highly suggest you share multiple dishes to get the most for your money.
The BEST Mediterranean food I have had!!
The last good mediterranean food I had was in Cincinnati, 4yrs ago. And this place topped that easily.
The server suggested me to try Mujaddara which was actually a side dish, but the quantity was good enough to fill up 1 person.
Even the appetizers-Baba Ganoush, Hummus and Calamari were amazing and each had authentic taste.
The only drawback was the place seemed crammed. They could reduce the # of tables and make it more spacious
Planning to visit the place again soon.
We saw a post that recommended Lola’s Seared Foie Gras on site and decided to give it a try since we were craving for Foie Gras.
The decor is classy, modern with romantic ambiance so it’s perfect for date night. The menu wasn’t in a great variety and we got Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Mushroom Malawach, Lamb Kofte, Brussels Sprouts and daily specials Duck Pot Pie to share with 2 adults & a baby.
The portion was not quite huge but we ordered too much so we couldn’t finish everything. The price was a little bit high compared to what we expected but every dish was overall decent and delicate
so we felt satisfied.
Hands down THE BEST restaurant on Long Island and an absolute FAVORITE of mine, my friends, and the community at large! I have been dining at Lola for years and have hosted events there. Everyone raves about it. My friends from the city meet me there! The food is always fresh, the vibe is always good, and the menu has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to accommodate patrons, especially Marissa the manager who is so attentive (and makes a delicious passion fruit margarita). I'm obsessed with the mujadra rice, fatoush, cauliflower, hummus and fries. I dined there literally 3 times this past week! It's our go-to place with friends and family.
I like how after few times of going there the servers already knew us and were very helpful with drinks and food suggestions. Always busy, but not loud or obnoxious. Salad portions are huge, and definitely to share. Love all the deserts and the passion fruit drink, forget the name.
Delicious food. Great service. Cozy ambience
Loved, loved, loved the Banaganush and foie gra !!!!! Please order these 2 dishes and you won't believe how tasty it is!!
Great way to spend a quiet anniversary dinner. Great with food allergies and excellent for vegetarians. Definitely will return. If you can ask for Lauren to be your server do so as she goes out of her way to make sure you have a great experience.
One of the best restaurants I've gone to. The appetizers were so good, we didn't even need the entrees, which were terrific by themselves. The menu keeps changing. I haven't been disappointed by one appetizer, side or entree. I was particularly impressed by the fact that they close on Sundays, so that their staff can be with their family on a weekend. The only dish that we order every time that we go there are the Brussels sprouts. They are unbelievable. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
Last Monday night it was time for us to go back to Lola for our regular wine dinner. One of the guys in the group spoke with chef owner Michael Ginor in advance asking him if he would be willing to cook a special meal for us featuring Foie Gras and all of the other luxurious dishes that one can only dream about. The answer was a resounding yes! Chef used to feature many of the dishes we ate last week on his menu, but the theme of the restaurant has changed over time, but let me tell you his skills have only improved and the meal he created for us will only push us back to the restaurant sooner.
The first creation was Osetra Caviar on top of a Cauliflower Panna Cotta with a "dreamlike" Scallop Tartar, the presentation which you will see, was amazing. As great as the presentation the dish was simply exquisite. We were all raving about it what seemed like forever.
Forever ended abruptly when we were presented with the Totchon of Hudson Valley Foie Gras along with pistachio, rhubarb and duck prosciutto. When I tell you that this might have ever been the best presentation and tasting foie, I've ever eaten, I kid you not. It's a favorite of the 10 of us who were eating it and a staple at all of our wine dinners. Truth be told in all my years of indulging in dishes like this it must be among the 10 best ever and that really is saying a lot. With it we had 2 different Tokaji Aszueszencia's one a 1999 and the other a 2003. Both were excellent.
With the initial offering we had 2 wonderful champagnes one being an Andre Clouet and a 2008 Grand Dame. In addition to 2 outstanding white wines as well.
Dish number 3 was a beautifully prepared Artic Char with spring pea, preserved lemon and marinated ikura. The fish was cooked to perfection, rare, moist and expertly seasoned. Each mouthful was an explosion of wonderful flavors. We were getting a bit creative with the wine pairings now, we opened a 1996 Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondina and a 2007 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru.
Our next dish was a White Birch Grilled Wagyu with Truffle Pommes Puree and charred scallion Chimichurri. Words alone can't describe the taste of this offering; the attached pictures might help. As I'm trying to remember the wines I realize that my notes were getting a bit messy, but I do remember we opened in no particular order now a 1999 Hospices de Beaune Grand Cru, 2004 Domaine Dujac, 2004 Camille Girard Beaune, 1992 Chateau Leoville St. Julien, 2000 Domaine De Chevaile Grand Cru Classe de Graves and a couple of others I forgot.
Our next dish was extremely traditional when it comes to Foie Gras, it's classic French and it's never served like this here. it was the Whole Roast of Foie Gras with Okinawa Purple potato and braised red cabbage. I've never before had the foie presented to me in this fashion, it's so far removed from the perception of Foie Gras is on a menu that you wouldn't believe it one word will describe this offering WONDERFUL!
This was then followed by a 28 day dry aged Rohan Duck with rutabaga, Medjool date and a Star Anise BBQ Sauce. This was the 6th savory course that we were served and this alone could have been the star of the night on its own. It was beautiful, truly fit for a king.
For desert, (not that we needed any, but we had a 1976 Rheingau in the wings,) we were served a Halva Parfait composed of Silan, Semisweet chocolate and torched meringue. I know it was delicious but forgive me by now my ability to do justice to the meal was a real stretch.
Michael you and you staff out did yourselves. Many of us here for this dinner had been customers on a regular basis before the menu change. After the meal you gave us I'm sure we'll be back for some of our wine dinners and at other times as well. Thanks again for a wonderful night!
PS - I didn't forget about your offer on getting the foie thru you
Overall, nice place, atmosphere inviting, and intimate. Food was great. However, the chickpeas with grill octopus was great until we learned it had meat in there. As it wasn't indicated on the menu description and we do not eat meat. The waitress was very apologetic. We stuck with the salad and hummus for the rest of the night. The wine selection was nice.
Most delicious food. The bartender was amazing. The vibe is cute. The chef is on another level. Amazing food can’t say enough about how delicious everything was Only issue was a very rude waitress who didn’t know how to deal with a large crowd and was very nasty to my friends. When we made reservations they knew it would be a large group so the attitude was really not necessary
Great food, service and staff. Our impromptu visit turned out to be a great experience - from beet salad and hummus with lamb appetisers, to duck and lamb kebab for entre. You could taste each of the distinct flavors. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Certainly a place to come back
The hummus with shawarma and lamb kefta were excellent and the baked Alaska didn't disappoint either. Really impressed with the quality and presentation here.
Visited last year during winter. Highly recommend the grilled octopus. Hummus was also delicious.
Always like Lola. I love their previous incarnation of tapa menu much more. But, the new menu is not bad. Foie Gras is superbly done. So is the duck. Portion is really generous.
I went here back in February of this year. I found this restaurant because Newsday listed it in the top 100 restaurants on Long Island - and they were right!
The food here is delicious! From the appetizers to the main course, we enjoyed our meal AND we were stuffed. In addition, the drinks are legit. There is no short changing on the quality of the mixed drinks.
Also, the waitress (Lauren) we had was amazing! Lauren was able to tell that it was our first time here without asking and she went above and beyond the call.
Lauren pointed out dishes as other waitresses brought them from the kitchen to let us know what they were. This gave us a visual of what we may be ordering. She even brought out a complimentary appetizer!
A great waitress can make a mediocre restaurant/food seem good. However, to have a great waitress serving delicious food and drinks definitely left a good impression on me for my first visit.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or a group of friends looking for a cool calm atmosphere to dine!
The food at this place was amazing. The two dishes I tried were very well cooked, presented and most of all great concept.
