On a busy day the parking can be tricky because it's small. Better to order your food ahead of time and come to pick up. The food is good and the staff are good as well.
Seasonings on chicken n okra is delicious but I don't like extra $1 charge for cooking food. I don't go to McDonald's n get charged extra $1 for cooking hamburgers. If I wanted raw meat I would go to Meijer.
Highly recommend Captain Jay's fried chicken – it's fantastic!
Regret not trying their fried catfish this time, but it's on my list for the next visit.
Fish was FRESH and TASTY… even saw a bunch of rods and coolers in the back alley. The place did smell very fishy, but the food tasted great. I’ll be back soon.

One of the best places in Grand Rapids for fried fish fried chicken and fries. So dang good. Abundant blessings to the people who own and work there. You touch my soul Everytime I come order from you all.
Pros:
Food is pretty good. Fries and mozzarella sticks were good. They put some sort of seasoning on them thats unique but good. They offer a basic supply of groceries items (milk, eggs, cereal, sugar, etc) as well drink options (fountain and cooler).
