Review Uncle Cheetah's Kitchen Table - Grand Rapids

We have been to this place several times, and it has not disappointed. We have had about a dozen different soups at this point, and all have been enjoyable. Their old goat grilled cheese is outstanding. Its goat cheese mousse with rosemary is exquisite. I think I’ve ordered it four times now and it is consistently delicious. The bread is high quality, with ooey goodness where the volume of cheese is not out of balance with the amount of bread. Most recently, we had the “woo stew” which is like a vegan butter chicken type flavor. I love tikka masala and similar Indian flavors rich with cardamom, clove, cinnamon, etc, and this did not disappoint. I have never tried to prepare this type of flavor without butter or cream, but I didn’t miss the dairy in this dish. I also had the “Sasquash” which was ultra creamy with a bit of heat. Very enjoyable, especially with challah dipped in it. I frankly cannot remember the specific soups that I’ve had on other visits…but I remember always feeling satisfied on my way out. It’s become a place to stop if I’m remotely nearby in the afternoon. They will allow you to taste the soup before committing, which is great with so many rotating recipes.

Love love love Uncle Cheetahs Soup Shop - it’s so good! It’s a quaint, hole in the wall, local soup shop that offers delicious soups, sandwiches, and salad. The inside is small and cozy and has a few tables. If it’s nice out, it’s a great place to eat outside at as well. It’s the perfect spot for lunch, the takeout is great too. Pictured: blue bonnet salad (the half is plenty for one and packed full), turn up the jam, and the Frenchie

Their creative soups are amazing, some of their more familiar soups can be pretty meh. Their grilled cheeses are super good but modest in size. Small shop with limited seating.

All great ! Food was amazing, SO MANY OPTIONS. The only thing I wish they had was soups of the day updates online (it’s 2023) because online they have like 50 soups and when you get there like 10 are on the board. Which is reasonable ! But I’d of loved to of seen it online. (Might have missed it) but their website is also very nice

Uncle cheetah’s soup shop is a classic tradition near the East town area of Grand Rapids. Likely the best selection of fresh made soups in the Grand Rapids area. They have typical favorites like New England clam chowder as well as many funky unique flavors as well. Stopped here on a Saturday early afternoon and it was quick service. However, this is a popular spot so sometimes you may have to wait a while to order and get your food.

For my Celiac and GF friends, this spot is IT. Almost every soup Uncle Cheetah has to offer is gluten-free and many are dairy-free as well. It's not very often that I am stumped by such an extensive menu (usually I only have one or two items I can choose from). I was so excited. On top of that, they offered a gluten-free/vegan grilled cheese sandwich and it was the move. Thank you!!

My absolute favorite place in the world. So many yummy tasty soups to choose from! My personal favorite is the roasted red pepper with the challah. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Pretty crowded spot but really cute inside.

The best soup place in the country? You just found it. No really, you have. Unless you know another place that over the year makes 150+ different soups, all from scratch using local and regional products. And they're all tasty! Usually a large variety like this may be suspicious, but Uncle Cheetah's is a serious about soup as we are about health and strength training. Only the good stuff! The salads, sandos and tacos are great, as well! It is small inside and does get busy mid day or dinner time, but it is very charming and truly gives so much to the neighborhood and area!

Service was pretty slow on Sunday afternoon, and some of the staff seemed flustered because it was kind of busy. Soup and grilled cheese were tasty but I think a bit overpriced. I got the all American grilled cheese and roasted red pepper soup.

Nice and cozy atmosphere. The food was so good! Especially during the fall time. My friend brought me back the pumpkin chorizo soup, and I loved it. So, I had to come back. This time, I got the Tomato Saffron soup with the Old Goat grilled cheese. So delicious! The rosemary in the goat cheese spread complimented the saffron so well. My friend got the curry corn chowder. Her words on how the soup was: "Fire". (That means really really really good) I also love that they have tons of vegan and vegetarian options!

Caught a summer cold and needed some soup. Got Butternut Squash soup and it was incredible! It's savory, not sweet, which I prefer. Also got some chips, queso & guacamole. They were both delicious. The guacamole wasn't too spicy and the queso was tasty/hot without being overwhelming. Will definitely be going back to see Mr. Cheeta again!

Loved the food and gluten free options. Service was great both times I went and same with the food— absolutely delicious! However, I inquired about the “upon request” paw print in regards to a potentially gluten free soup and it seems the staff was uneducated or uninformed of what the “upon request” pawprint actually meant. I also noticed a beef and barley soup was marked gluten free which seemed concerning as barley is gluten. Otherwise, food was delicious and staff was kind.

This could be described as one of those 'hole in wall' establishments that you find off handedly and it becomes a special place to go. It is quick, the portions are fairly priced and the food has the comfort of home-cooked to it. My soup, tomato saffron was delicious and I will be back for more. The take away, we did feel rushed to order and in the future will order our food and take out.

Great place to grab a quick bite of good soup. I go regularly before heading across the street to the theater. Great selection of soups. Always something new to try.
