Reviews Russ' Restaurant

We went with a group of 8. They have booths with centers that can be removed to make this easier than pulling tables together. Our food was good. Russ' is known for more homestyle dinners. You can find meatloaf and reuben sandwiches. And few restaurants will offer squash and mixed rice as sides. Service was a little slow even for a larger group. About 40 minutes from ordering to being served. Drinks ran dry before food came.

I'm a huge fan of Russ'. This location has shrunk in size over the past few years. The service was a little bit rough, and our waitress was clearly newer. The food was still good, and the ambiance was right. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

This is the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in. While in Grand Rapids I had to enjoy a breakfast stop, and I chose Russ' Restaurant for that meal. Parking was a Plenty. Once inside I was amazed at how clean this place is! The waitress Terri was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We placed our order, and waited for about 20 minutes for our food order. Coffee was topped off more than once during the wait for food. Food came out and everything looked great. I had the Eggs Benedict and found the food to be delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. I would highly recommend you visit this establishment. I cannot imagine anyone would be unhappy. Food: 5 Stars Employees: 5 Stars Cleanliness: 5 Stars

This is the first time I've used their drive thru , and except for the time delay , I am impressed with the selection and friendliness. I ordered the Meatloaf "Stacker" sandwich and it's basically an open faced sandwich which was very filling and very tasty. The only reason for 4 stars is the long wait.

The best things we ate were the hand battered onion rings and their french fries. Both were delicious and crispy. Very good!

When we travel to Grand Rapids, we always stop here. Food is the best and the staff is great. Home-made food at its finest. Highly recommend.

Excellent Russ's location, I've been to all of them, it's our family destination weekly. Great food, and the young gals are very helpful and friendly servers. Will be returning most certainly.

Top 5 favorite of all time. Best blue cheese dressing in the midwest. Jackie was hustling, the servers do all the work themselves, which is a foreign concept in this dat and age.

My wife and I were served by Andrew, who did a great job. We shared a delicious spinach, chicken and provolone wrap and enjoyed our time with you. A great local family restaurant 😃.

Short of five stars because there's no restroom! Good food and service. Quality ranch that was thick and creamy for my dipping pleasure on my delicious onion rings and fried mushrooms. Great burger and fries as well. Affordable prices! No alcohol :( Good pulpy orange juice though! High chairs for kids but we where having a nice kid free weekend!

Fantastic dining experience! Brought my son there after a Chuck E Cheese outing (his birthday, his choice) and we normally go to the 28th St Russ every week, so we were very happy as this new Russ's was very consistent on what were used to, yet it was different in a nice way. We will be returning again, great staff, food, and atmosphere.

If you need a basic meal this is a good place. Nothing fancy. Breakfast in the morning is good. Size portions are not oversized, but decent.

Family owned and operated since 1934, Russ' is a time capsule from not only before the Internet (to be sure) but before international travel and even television! Wrap your head around that while we reframe our breakfast visit. The signage is the first clue that we're no longer in the modern era; it's charming and optimistic. Their motto - "the home made goodness people" - and their logo - a blonde Dutch boy running past a windmill through tulips while carrying a burger - represents a world long past, similar to those heady videos of early astronauts on Coco Beach. The Saucijzenbrodje (literally "sausage roll") was my obvious first nibble. A Dutch pig-in-a-blanket hounds just right... and it was! The flakey pastry shell was both crispy, flakey, and oily in just the most satisfying way! The sausage has a great texture and flavor, so half got eaten bare. Served with ketchup, which was tasty too, I pined for the curry ketchup favored in Holland (and familiar to any who have feasted at an Amsterdam Automat). Russ' Original Breakfast Sandwich (fried egg, seared stack of hickory smoked slices ham, American cheese, on a toasted and buttered English muffin) is a sweeter, ham'ier forerunner of McDonald's Egg McMuffin (1975). Yum! Jackie, my server, was right on top of my coffee consumption, friendly, and attentive. Anyone whinging about the cook times - yes, few take a few minutes - should reflect on a time before just-in-time pre-prepared drive-thru foods were considered normal. Russ' filled up during my Saturday visit, from when I arrived at 0800 to when I left at 0930. (This reflects my morning wake up pace, serial rounds of exploring the menu, and reading my morning catch up stuff, and not on the normal time to get in and out). Russ' is an affordable gem, when viewed from the right vantage point. We'll be back!

Food was good. I enjoyed their Lemon rice soup and grilled chicken was good too but very small portions though.
