There are lots of coffee shops in Grand Rapids, Lantern is definitely on the top of my list. The warm welcoming atmosphere and baristas make this place cozy and a true destination.

I spent an hour here with a friend, and the basement is very cozy with comfortable seating. The coffee was great. I had pour over coffee, and there were some great options for the beans. I’d definitely recommend Lantern for an easy going afternoon or just something to drink.
Always love to stop at Latern when I’m downtown. The coffee and espresso taste great and the atmosphere is very chill. There’s a large area downstairs to sit and post up if you’re looking to get some work done. There are ample outlets and two private restrooms.
This charming place called 'Lantern' turned out to be a delightful find! With its unassuming exterior featuring a classic sign, the inside exudes a hip ambiance across its two levels. Upstairs, they whip up some mean coffee, and downstairs, there’s plenty of space to tackle homework or get work done. The lady at the counter? Total sweetheart, although I wish I knew her name for this review. The coffee? Top-notch, seriously one of the highlights of our trip. If we ever find ourselves in Grand Rapids again, you bet we’re stopping by. Solid 10/10 experience!
Had a pumpkin spice latte, was pretty flavorful. My husband prefers cold brew and they only had iced coffee.... he couldn't tell the difference because it was so smooth. Friendly atmosphere.

We popped in for caffeine and ordered a matcha, a Chai tea latte, and a regular latte. They were all good but not our absolute favorites. They do have a downstairs area which would be good for studying or working. The staff were nice but not overly friendly. We would come back!
cute atmosphere and DELICIOUS COFFEE!!!! the matcha i had wasnt my fav but my friend liked her iced matcha. i got a seasonal latte, the one with maple/cinnamon, and a bagel that was to die for. perfect study or date vibe. and love the pride feel ❤️ just such an artistic space
Lantern is awesome! They provided an incredible coffee service for a wedding where I was the wedding planner recently. They were so fun to work with and everyone was so happy to have them there. The coffee was amazing and it was such a fun addition to the day. Thanks for being awesome Lantern!
I don’t come here often but I always enjoy my visits. I find this a great place to get some deep studying done. The cozy atmosphere and great drinks are just what I need to get stuff done.

This place has very friendly staff, pretty decent coffee, and a nice atmosphere. I struggled a little bit to figure out my coffee options at first and landed on a seasonal drink. I normally love a peppermint mocha but this one just seemed to be lacking in flavor a little bit. It wasn't bad, it just didn't wow me. There's a large cozy space down a floor to sit and drink coffee. It is set up to easily be able to work while you are there on a computer which several people were. There was even someone there on a virtual meeting and it was not disruptive of the space and they seemed to be able to hear just fine. There's no table service so make sure to clean up after yourself! The prices were also very reasonable. I would come here again.
