We had a wonderful time here! We were staying near by at a hotel and this was in perfect walking distance. We ended up going through the back door but it didn’t seem like that mattered. It was loud inside but I expected that with this place and it honestly made the vibe better. Food was top tier. Absolutely wonderful food. We each got a burger and split an order of cheese curds and those were addicting! Burgers were cooked perfectly and the sides were great. We tried the fries and the Mac and cheese. Both were great but I gotta give the win to the fries! I added a fried egg to my burger and it was also cooked exactly as I wanted and just made everything better.
Service was great! All staff were attentive and quick with drinks, questions, etc,.

It embraces a dive bar look, but I wouldn't call it a dive bar. Great place to hang with friends. Dog friendly, which is a great touch. There is some outside seating, but not a ton. Service is good. Beer and wine choices are that of a typical bar. The food is really good. Highly recommend this place to hang, throw some back and maybe watch a game.

Interesting place to walk up to but when we walked in we were told to sit wherever we liked. Immediate we loved the vibes and they had consistently great music throughout the dinner. Think 2000s-2010s favorites.
We were greeted quickly and got our drink order within a few minutes. Our waitress, Cassidy, was super friendly and took our orders. We told her it was our first time and she said everything we ordered is what she would’ve recommended so we were really hopeful!
Our fried cheese curds came out nice and hot. They were delicious. Our dinner followed not too long after. Also hot. Also delicious. Throughout the rest of the meal we kept mentioning to ourselves how amazing the food was and boxed what we couldn’t eat to go.

First time here with friends from out of town. Husband and friend got the garage burger. I ordered build your own burger. All three burgers were seasoned to perfection and delicious. Definitely the perfect classic bar burger! My friend and I had the hand cut fries that came with the burgers. My husband ordered a side salad with his burger. The salad had a variety of veggies and fresh crisp Lettuce. The Garage has a very nice selection of beers and spirits as well as Pepsi products and lemon aide. Something for everyone. The staff and overall atmosphere were great! A fun place to spend time with friends and family while enjoying great food and drinks. Will definitely be back.

When you drive up, you can see the inspiration for the name as it is within an old garage. There are still an operating auto garage to on side of the restaurant. Inside the glass doors you are greeted with a typical bar/tavern setting with a long bar to the right and High-top tables in the middle. The name could not be more literal.
The food was excellent. I had the garage burger with onion rings. Both were fantastic. The beef was well cooked, tender, and flavorful. The sauces were not overpowering and complemented the beef nicely.
In all, I really enjoyed my food here. I did get takeout, so I am unable to comment on the service experience. Though I will say that the food was ready when I got there and pickup was a breeze. If they had a dedicated pickup parking area in front, that would be ideal.
I will be back to try out more of their menu and give another rating.

The food is incredible, the service is excellent, and the best part is, they allow dogs!!! We took our fur babies out to lunch today and had such a great time!! Allie was our server and she spoiled the pups and loved on them as if they were her own. Her service was amazing! We will definitely be back!

100% recommend this place! We were traveling from our cottage back to metro Detroit and stopped here because when we called they said they were dog-friendly. They not only allow dogs, they LOVE dogs! Sabrina was our waitress and she was amazing. She went above and beyond, brought our pup a water bowl and a little treat. She had amazing knowledge of the menu and drinks and gave recommendations. I had a salad that had their chicken fingers on it- they're the best I've ever had!! My partner had a Philly sandwich and it was delicious!! So were the fries. I loved the Voodoo IPA on draft- it's a new favorite beer for me.
Highly recommend this place! If you like dogs, a chill atmosphere, delicious food that's really prepared in-house, and great service- check this place out!! 10/10!!!

Great atmosphere, great service and food. Only knock I would say and it's not really on The Garage. But parking in Grand Rapids with construction is definitely an experience.... But don't let it stop you from having a good time!!

Tucked back on the outskirts of downtown and even while dealing with construction in front of the restaurant they have not slowed down at all. The regulars know to keep coming in and it's no surprise. The food and drinks are exceptional. Lots of made to order from scratch and hand battered menu items. We will be back for sure!

First timers here. Excellent job guys! Had the "Last Harvest"cocktail and my partner had the "Salted Caramel White Russian". Best drinks in town we've experienced so far. Meals were top notch and the music was great as well. Michael was a great server, as well. Definitely we'll be back.

This place is awesome. Well staffed, service is fast and friendly. The environment was great, loved the music and the chill vibe. The food was awesome! The best onion rings I have ever had. The nachos were great and so were the bloody marys. Visited multiple times and always had a great experience. Love that it's dog friendly and open later.

Garage bar is a great little spot. Don’t know where to go on a Friday/Saturday night?.. go here. Delicious food, chill music, and good vibes. It can fit a variety of party sizes. Perfect if you want a fun, slightly energized night out but still want to keep it casual. It’s got a classic bar feel with live music and is dog friendly but also feels clean and has good food - win win. Pic: brisket sandwich, garage burger and jalapeño creamed corn.

So dog friendly that our dog got served before we did 🤣 Very cool restaurant with a laid-back vibe. I would definitely come back here again; which says a lot because I like trying new places. Worth a visit if you're in the area. It can be very busy. It's worth the wait. Great prices, good servings, excellent food and drinks! I had a gyro and a Mai Tai, @maverick_the_westie_ had smoked bacon with water on the house.

Their claim of having the been voted the best burger in town can't be true. The garbage burger was ok but not anywhere near the best burger in town. And the all you can eat fish on Friday is very greasy. The Perrin Black on tap was the only highlight.

Bravo!!! This place is beyond amazing! Honestly, kudos all around. Your wait staff is wonderful, the burgers my wife and I ordered are amongst the best we've tasted. The fries are so good that I will remember them in my sleep. I couldn't be more happy for our visit and cannot wait to share this place with others. I am excited to visit again!

So fun to have a place to watch the final World Cup game. Suggestions for next time, have a separate line for water/ soda and beer. Waiting while drinks were being mixed I was missing the game. Grab and pay for cans is much faster. Good crowd and fun atmosphere

Had a taco salad each. Great flavor, it was made with seasoned cubed chicken instead of ground beef, which was excellent. Served with a fairly potent creamy sriracha sauce, it had some wallop. But there were 50 to 60 jalapeno slices between both salads and that, my friends, is what I call overkill.

This was my second time going to Garage Bar and it was great. The first time was just for drinks and appetizers, and this time was for a painting event. The event took up a good portion of the restaurant for a few hours and the staff was still very attentive and kind. They also have a great outdoor area. Would recommend!

Always love the garage. Just had my birthday party there on Saturday,great turnout! Huge shoutout to our waitress who handled the party like a champ and was very polite about having to make everyone get off the sidewalk with their drinks! My favorite bar in GR!! The entire bar staff totally ROCK and so does everyone who comes here on the regular. I love their comedy nights every Monday and their open mic nights on Wednesdays, I'm always amazed by the talent people bring when you put a microphone in front of them. It's been awhile since I've been there. My X and old friends went often when it was Teazers �. Friend's and I went for dinner they heard about your burgers, I had the turkey club. The French fries please don't do that. Were gawwwdddd awful. The salted caramel delish.
