Best. Donuts. EVER.. I adore this place. I can never decide what I want because everything is so good. I usually end up getting a variety of pastries and eating them over a few days or sharing with friends and cutting each item into portions so we can sample a little of everything. This is the only place I have ever found the cheese kolacky, which is my favorite, and I also love their almond pastries, and macaroons. As I stated in my title, they have the best donuts ever.
Sooo... Good!. Van's is a such warm, friendly, hospitable place. Their coffee is the best. Van's pastries are positively delicious. Often they are still warm right out of the oven. Try one of their fat balls and you'll keep coming back again and again for another. On top of all this, their prices are so reasonable. I consider this place a real treasure...it's that nice
Van's Pastry Shoppe. Worth the potential parking nightmare. Van's donuts were so fresh the last time I stopped in there, in fact the glazed donuts were warm. And you cannot leave with out a loaf of their english muffin bread. It is the best I have ever had. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Well and I didn't even mention the pastries. It's the perfect place to visit if you have a hankering for a good "dutch" sweet treat!

Van’s felt like stepping back in time a bit, but in a good way. Service was quick and friendly, and there were a lot of tasty treats to choose from. I bought several items to go including an apple fritter, and old fashioned plain donut, an almond tart, and a date cookie. Everything was delicious and rich. I definitely highly recommend Van’s as a bakery for pastries and other sweets.

A historic Grand Rapid's staple and fantastic family owned business. They have the best fresh donuts, English muffin bread, and banket in the area! The folks working here are are so wonderful and the prices are the best you will find ANYWHERE near here. A true treasure and located one block over from the Fulton Street Market.
Van's is an iconic GR location that has been in business since the 20s. A quaint vintage shop that makes their donuts, pastries, and breads in house daily. A few tables to sit down and socialize, but the real gold is in the sweet pastries. One of two great donut shops here in town. This one is a favorite. SO GOOD. Prices are reasonable, and the service is spot on. Always greeted with a smile. This is a top notch family owned Grand Rapids business. Highly recommended.
This was my first time ordering donuts from Van's...they're close to my workplace so that was very convenient. But service was great and the folks working at the counter were friendly. I just walked in and asked for 2 dozen assorted, and she put them together for me. Couldn't have been easier. And the donuts were delicious. Even checked with another coworker who said the same, so it was a hit. I'll be back next time I need donuts for work. Van's is truly a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

I spent all morning searching Grand Rapids for a pecan pie for my girlfriends dad. Nowhere had any.I was driving back home after giving up and I saw this shop I went into occasionally with my dad growing up and as I drove by my gut said run in and see. I told the ladies what I was looking for and they said “we don’t have the pie but what about pecan cinnamon rolls.there so much better” I said absolutely! Thank you. I grabbed another slab of caramel apple ones and the lady said “don’t worry about the pecan cinnamon rolls..it’s his birthday it’s on us” 🥺absolutely amazing. Made my girlfriends dad birthday so much better. I will never give my business to any other bakery shop in town. This place is great. Thank you again!

Flaky, delicious donut. I bought some muffins and turnovers as a gift and they turned out great! Really good pricing.
Best blueberries muffins I have had also got cherry rolls not sure what there called but looked like a cinnamon roll with fruit in it excellent .
Great selection of doughnuts to choose from. Especially like there oliebollen. Great friendly service.
