Blown away by the quality of the sushi here. Sushi Yama has incredibly fresh sushi for a place in Michigan. Their selection is plentiful with many options, including vegetarian. It’s right on Rosa Parks Circle and Kilwin’s is just above it. If you’re looking for a place to find great Japanese cuisine, Sushi Yama is the place you should go

This place is a hidden gem! Found it about two years ago and it’s still my favorite. The sushi is top notch, prices are reasonable, setting is clean and quiet, and service is excellent. Highly recommend!

A sushi place in the basement of the McKay Tower, it is unassuming and out of the way from your normal food options. Seating is next to the elevators, but they will bring your food to your table. Prices are great for a downtown restaurant, but don't expect a romantic dinner out.

Sushi Yama is a staple within McKay Tower. Always great service. The food always looks and tastes fresh. Fair prices. The two men that run the place always seem to be there for the customers, and they go above and beyond to ensure that you have a good experience. I normally pack a lunch for work, but if I don't Sushi Yama is where I go for lunch. Quicker, reliable, tasty, and fairly priced. 10/10 recommend!

This was my first time going here and I have to say this is one of the better sushi spots out there. I got the lunch special A which is a great deal for 12$. Atmosphere is unique and very chill. Definitely coming here again

If you like sushi don't pass up Sushi Yama, great little hidden gem (literally hidden 🙂) in the basement of the McKay Tower. Quiet, inviting and friendy little place to have a good meal or snack!
