Review Bistro Bella Vita - Grand Rapids

Fantastic! Went there for my birthday, and was impressed. Service was quick, along with delicious food. The scallops were perfectly cooked. I had the black spaghetti, and would order it again. The shrimp in all of our dishes were a little over cooked, hence the 4 stars. The half chicken was a nice wholesome meal.

Cocktails were exceptional (and marked down for happy hour)! I particularly enjoyed the Pink Lady martini. Food was great. Really enjoyed the tomato bruschetta!

Went for our anniversary on a recommendation, atmosphere was not what we were intending for. We were looking for more of an intimate setting and that you could talk to one another without shouting. We quickly realized this is a perfect restaurant for large gatherings where you can be loud and still get decent food. I got the 4 cheese ravioli, it was undercooked along the edges of the pasta, sauce was watery and had random celery, carrots and cauliflower on top which made no sense to the dish. Husband got the filet mignon, he asked for medium rare and found it was closer to medium well the more he cut into it. The BEST PART of this restaurant was our server she was professional and super accommodating. She walked by and noticed my husbands steak and immediately offered to either take it back for a fresh steak or remove from the bill. My husband didn’t want to be a pain and so he said if it’s no trouble he would take a new steak, which came back cooked perfectly. They also offered either a free champagne 🥂 toast or deserts on the house for our anniversary, we opted for the tiramisu to go, had for breakfast the next day. Also they offer a cork fee of $25 a bottle so we were able to bring a nice bottle of Amarone in which cost would’ve been much different otherwise.

Since it was happy hour and I was still on the clock couldn’t drink I got the garden grove free spirit and it was amazingly delicious, I got the salmon entree and it did not disappoint at all .

We were there celebrating my daughter's wedding. The staff were amazing. Super patient with our party guests.

Such a great restaurant. I ordered the salmon and it taste soooooo salty, I drank lots of water💦 But this restaurant has really great atmosphere, it’s a good choice to hang out with friends in downtown

Bistro Bella Vita never fails to exceed my expectations. Stopped for a appetizer and a margarita. The tequilla in their drinks is wonderful. I had the meatballs, the veal/pork blend was delicious. I highly recommend everyone try this downtown GR hot spot.

Every person I interacted with here was so friendly and happy to be there. The food was AMAZING. I don’t think I’ll ever have fries that good anywhere else for the rest of my life. I got the rotini with chicken and it was phenomenal. My friend got the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Everything was fabulous. Make a reservation!

Celebrated my birthday with family and it was a great evening. We've been here before and have had very good meals in the past. Tonight was no different. Food was delicious and the service and atmosphere top notch I would highly recommend for a special occasion or date night.

The food was unique and savory. Not your run of the mill choices. Great place to have a date with a certain positive experience. No lack of imagination with food and drink but a very real experience. Cassidy owned his bar space and created his martinis to perfection. He maintained his space without missing a single need from the entire bar length. Its obvious I have a soft spot in my heart for this place but it has passed the test of time with ease.

Very spacious and comfortable dining area plus bar. Seated promptly. Waitstaff courteous and attentive. Great selection of entrees and desserts. Food was prepared beautifully and tasted great. Most items are a bit pricey but well worth it. Large parking lot located directly across the street.

I celebrated my birthday here over the weekend with my boyfriend and it was a wonderful experience. Grand Rapids is a couple hours away for us but I would seriously come out of my way to go back here. Amazing service, nice staff, and delicious food!

We had a wedding rehearsal at Bistro Bella Vita with 22 people and everything was amazing. Food and service was exceptional. They even personalized the menu for us. They are very organized and are great at communicating in a timely manner.

Bistro Bella Vita is located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. This restaurant has an upscale type atmosphere with a modest price for what could be considered fine dining. The food was big on flavor using savory spices and seasonings. I enjoyed the Poulet De Provence, which consisted of a half rotisserie roasted chicken breast & leg, brown butter mashed potato, seasonal vegetables and chicken jus. I also had their half Ceaser salad. The service was excellent. I totally enjoyed my entire experience at this restaurant.

Calamari, Focaccia, Saffron Risotto, Housemade Rigatoni. Everything was amazing and the service was excellent too. Very busy on Saturday for dinner but food was served quickly and tasted great. Would definitely recommend. They also have options for people with dietary restrictions!

Been there on date night, with my parents and girls night. ITS ALWAYS A HIT. All the food is amazing and staff is always so nice. It’s on the fancier side and I live really close so it’s super convenient. 10/10 my favorite drink is the pink lady. After two of those u will be really to go party I promise

The GM Kady, our server Jordan, and the rest of the staff we interacted with were excellent hosts this evening. Everyone was inviting and thoughtful in their service even though we were one of the last tables on what seemed to be a relatively busy Wednesday night. The food was incredibly good. Don't show up here and not get the bruschetta. Top notch. Tomato bisque= one of the best either of us has had, and we use it as a means to rate restaurants in relation to one another. I had the black seafood spaghetti and the presentation and flavor profiles were on point. Perfectly al dente pasta. I can't speak for the bolognese yet, but the other guest I was with told me to try it for breakfast because he thought it was excellent. See you next time, BBV. <3 thanks for a wonderful meal.

This place was great. The atmosphere is modern and interesting, but very cozy and inviting. They had our table set special for us for our anniversary. Our server was excellent, as was our food. If we are ever over in Grand Rapids again, we will come back. Just an all around wonderful experience.

Outstanding food! It was restaurant week , so we ordered off the special menu. Watermelon salad (mouth watering) Goat cheese ravioli...amazing flavors in every bite. Desert was equally delicious! Espresso Martini is the best in. Town!

I love this Restaurant! Located downtown Grand Rapids and close to VanAndel arena, it’s the best place to grab a great dinner before an event or just for fun!

My daughter and I went to dinner here and loved it. We made a reservation and got a high top table in the bar. I had the halibut special and she had the rigatoni pasta. Both were wonderful. We also shared the calamari appetizer and it was delicious.

Friday 2 pm 3 girls going for a lunch. We ordered a drink. 20 minutes later we saw the drinks on the bar. We waited another 10 minutes which is 30 minutes now and I got up to go get the drinks myself. The waiter told me sorry they didn't have a bartender. Very poor service Only 12 people in the whole place. Sad.

Our experience was wonderful. Great food, great service,and a really great atmosphere!! A fun place to fine dine! Ran into old friends which was a definite bonus!!

Without a doubt one of my favorite dining options in Grand Rapids. We decided to do a light lunch, salad and cooked salmon. It was beyond delicious. The service was excellent and the waiting staff was very courteous. Well done!

We went to celebrate my son's 22st birthday. We had a couple of appetizers, ordered 3 of the and the Tiramisu for my son. It was great. The pizzas and tiramisu were the best!! Our server was wonderful. I'll be back for sure!

Great atmosphere. Awesome food. A little loud, if you are looking for something more intimate, kind of hard to carry on a conversation. Our server was great and checked on us often. Overall, very satisfied.
