Review Brewery Vivant - Grand Rapids

Nice spot. Fab beers, lots of euro styles with the American styles too. Great food, feels very Northern European. Very cool building, loykts of tables inside and out. The bone marrow was very good, duck nachos super nice and the charcuterie too. Dry good spot to grab dinner and some drinks in grand rapids

Good food, great beer, sweet atmosphere. Ordered duck nachos and they did not disappoint. Great place to hang out for beer and drinks. They host many events and have a moody vibe.

Brewery Vivant was such a unique and delicious dining experience. We had the duck nachos, which were decedent! Followed up by the Hot Honey Sandwich, Monk Salad, and Spicy Tomato soup…each of which was to die for! What a fun, old age atmosphere, friendly staff, and rich drinks. Remy was so sweet and personable! We can’t wait to go back.

Such nice people here! A cool location with history going from funeral home to daycare to brewery. Beers to tastinge for 12$. These guys know what tje make. We were in a bit early, but enjoyed our beer- cheese. Next time we’ll plan a guided tour. We’d lile to know more about the beers they brew!

I love this place. The beer is good, the food is good, the vibe is good. Great place to visit for casual date, after work, or just hangout with friends! Update: Remy, our waiter, was super accommodating. They were fast and friendly. I hope I get Remy every time!

This is my favorite brewery stop in Grand Rapids for IPAs! They are each so flavorful. My favorite this time was the Big Red. We also enjoyed some poutine!

I wanted to give 5 stars so bad! But...alas. Overall, I really did love this place, and I will absolutely be returning. Because of that, I'll start with what knocked off the star, and then I'll end on the high notes. The negative - I ordered the star of the menu (judging from other reviews and from my buddy who was there with me), the duck nachos. Our food came out very quickly - great! Which is why I was so surprised with what I discovered - it was barely lukewarm in the middle, and cold everywhere else. They quickly replaced it and the replacement was hot. The nachos are tasty. The cheese sauce is good, duck is tasty, overall flavors are good. But! It costs $23... and I could barely find any duck on it at all. What I did find was really delicious, just very little of it. It is extremely heavy on the chips... so many they are falling off the plate and about half of them don't get eaten because there wasn't enough toppings to go with them. At this price point, I expected something much better than what I got. Okay, on to the good! This is in a very unique building, looks like an old church or chapel. Very cool atmosphere, and yet unpretentious. The host was polite, welcoming, and quick. Our waitress was really great. She was absolutely on top of everything and very friendly. The beers! I had a flight, and the beers were all tasty. I've tried plenty of West Michigan breweries, and I'd say the flavors here put them well above the average. All good in this department in my book. Lastly, I tried a bite of what my friend got, which was the beer cheese with some sort of homemade bread. Guys... have you ever actually experienced the term "mouth watering flavor"? Where you bite into something, and it is so overwhelmingly delicious that your mouth starts watering as you're eating? THAT is what happened when I bit into this bread with the beer cheese! I literally drooled a tiny bit as I was chewing! Lol. The cheese was tasty, yes, but this bread... fresh and hot with perfectly chewy inside with an equally perfect crunchy crust, sprinkled with just a bit of sea salt on top... my God. I died and went to heaven. Easily one of the best bites of fresh bread I've ever had in my life. So I'll be back! Again, overall I really liked it.

The staff were all nice. Rebekah was a fantastic attentive waitress, even as busy as she was. We felt we were her only table with care we were given. Food was fantastic. The duck Nachos, Tempura sandwich, BLT, and burger all exceeded expectations. Farmhand beer was excellent, fries were an absolute addition in the future. The marinated olives were also very good.

This might be my favorite brewery in Grand Rapids! You come for the chapel-turned-bar and stay for everything else. The food is all an inventive twist on classic mid-west faire. My husband and I had the corn ribs special, brisket hash, French onion poutine, and bread pudding. I had a flight including the Cherry Saison and Pro-Am Tripel. All the beers I tried were amazing but those two stuck out. Our server Remy recommended most of what we got so hats off to them! Remy was so kind and really took into into consideration our tastes to find the best recommendations. Amazing service, food, and beer in a unique setting.

My favorite brewery in Grand Rapids. I haven’t had a bad beer here yet. Their service is great and their food is wonderful! I especially recommend their pretzel and pub cheese but everything here is fantastic. I would definitely recommend getting a flight here and definitely giving their classics farmhand and big red a try, but also their sours which are the best sours I have had. Also the environment is great, it has an antiquated cozy vibe. Cannot recommend you stopping here enough!

I ordered Sausage Plate, pretty good and for sure a good fusion of foods. For desert I got the rosemary donuts, they were ok, I wasn’t a big fan. Service is good, it is a brewery so more beer options than cocktails.

I Loved the the energy I felt when I walked in the room, Remy our waiter/Server was the most fun and kind, they made sure to match our energy and keep us happy! Their service was the most fun, as long as everyone running, waiting, and serving. The food was impeccable, along with the beverages. Will be back! Beautiful building! Building people! Beautiful energy!

Staff was friendly and just the right amount of attentiveness. Our waiter seemed knowledgeable about the menu and brews. I ordered the schnitzel which was good but seemed a little...mundane. I have never had schnitzel before so perhaps it is supposed to be that way. My sister had the duck nachos (I may have stolen one or two) and they were very good.

We stopped in for lunch on a Monday and sat at the bar and had a really wonderful experience! All of the beers we tried were great and the bartender was super helpful and even gave us a couple extra samples. We’d heard good things about the beer, so we focused on that but did get the poutine and it was nice too. They change up the gravy on a regular basis too. It’s a fun atmosphere being in an old church. Definitely recommend grabbing a spot at the bar so you can enjoy the stained glass as a backdrop.

Awesome spot! A must visit if you're a beer lover visiting GR. Beer is fantastic, staff was super friendly and great about recommending beers and food from their own menu, as well as other spots in town that are worth stopping by. Brought our 2 pups and have a lovely evening on the patio. We were told there was no food service outside, only drinks, but we were able to order food anyway!! So amazing because we really wanted to try the duck nachos (you should too!). Easy to give 5 stars here. They took great care of us. Highly recommend!

Fantastic brewery! Been going here for years, I can't believe I've never rated it until now. Such delicious, top level food, and always amazing beers. This place never disappoints!
