Niobe Japanese Steakhouse

I expected this to be a standard strip mall Japanese restaurant, but it's actually just a step or 2 below a sit down restaurant with servers. The food is pretty good, and you get a ton of it. It's a good deal for the price. You're able to help yourself to as much sauce as you want up front, so that's a huge plus. I'll get food from here again.

FYI: This is not a place where they do the hibachi grill in front of you, as some of the pictures show -- it may have been pre-covid, but now its an order at the counter, seat yourself/self serve type style. Really good. Nice people, fast service. Huge portions. My only gripewould be that I didnt get many vegetables on my hibachi plate, could've used more and less rice, I was eating rice for 3 days lol. I got the steak, it was tender, but not too flavorful and my husband got the chicken, we both really liked the chicken one, the flavor on it was so good. The spring rolls were also good. This is a far food, order yourself or takeout type place.

In recent years I have always enjoyed my meals from here. Tonight I ordered shrimp and salmon. I received shrimp and scallops and the scallops were burnt on the bottom. That food should have never hit a hard working , paying customers plate. A strong negative indication that the dollar taken now is more important than a reputable business w/ life long patrons.😪

Do not recommend their sushi at all, but their hibachi is good. I got the shrimp tempura and it was sad and pale. They also charge extra for eel sauce but none of their options sound remotely good or interesting. They charge the same price as other places so save your sushi time for those. I do like the way they rearrang3d so you order at a window
