Review Sunset Family Pizza - Gold Beach

Not many restaurants in gold beach oregon and they all close early but while there on vacation we found a gem. This pizza place was super cool. Good pizza and fun atmosphere

Sunset Family Pizza is a nice old school pizza parlor in Gold Beach. We ended up coming here for a pizza and some wings after a long hike nearby. The pizza comes out quick and the wings are very flavorful! Rather than traditional table service, you grab a menu when you walk in the door and order at the counter, and they’ll bring the food and drinks to your table. When we were here there was a birthday party going on and several other tables full of people enjoying their meal!

Visiting from out of town. Saw the good reviews and decided to give it a shot. The pizza was exactly how you want your pizza to taste. Got some mozzarella sticks too and they were also good. Not big on sauce and it was a good sauce to other ingredient ratio. I’d be back if I wasn’t leaving in the morning.

Pretty good Margherita pizza. I little oily but crust was light and crisp. Was a cloudy day and not much of an ocean view. Service is more self-serve than full serve. Also, they were out of the local Arch Rock IPA. Looks like a good family eating place. Will we return ... probably. Next time a different choice of pizza.

Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was clean and loved the fireplaces. The combo pizza was good but to much cheese on top, kills the flavors of the meat and veggies. Nice crisp thin crust. Would I return, yes!

Great pizza and a really nice person that helped us at check out. We called a sunset pizza in and it was ready when we arrived the topping where plentiful and quality. The cheese make or breaks the pizza for me and it was great. The inside of the restaurant has a beautiful entry place too, Check it out !

That's exactly what occurred when I stumbled upon Sunset Family Pizza in Gold Beach, Oregon, a few years back. Let me just cut to the chase: this was easily one of the best pizzas I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I was merely passing through the area and decided to order pizza to my room. What arrived was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The freshness of the ingredients immediately stood out, from the perfectly melted cheese to the assortment of high-quality meats and produce. Each bite was an explosion of flavors that danced harmoniously together, leaving me wanting more even after I was full. I was so impressed that I felt compelled to call the restaurant and speak to the manager or owner. While he seemed a bit surprised by my effusive praise, I could tell he took great pride in the quality of the pizzas they create. It's evident that they put thought, effort, and love into every pie that comes out of their kitchen. It's been a few years since that memorable meal, but the craving for another slice from Sunset Family Pizza hasn't faded. I can't wait to get back to Gold Beach and relive that heavenly pizza experience. If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for Sunset Family Pizza. Last place we ate on our 2 week vacation!! The place was beautiful inside!! The food was great! Pizzas, salads, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, an boneless wings. Service was great also definitely a family run business an local hang out!! It is a great family friendly atmosphere an doing well considering the fires burning near by! SHOW THEM SOME LOVE!!

Was very impressed! It's so nice to find such a quality pizza 🍕 place in a small town. The name is exactly right, Sunset is very family friendly but would be perfect for a date night or hanging out with friends also. Their staff greeted us as we walked in and made ordering very easy with their recommendation of Margherita pizza 🍕. From order to the table was less than 15 minutes and it was so delicious. We had a fantastic time while we ate as well. There is no doubt that on my next visit to Gold Beach that Sunset Family Pizza will be a destination we visit again!! Thanks, Y'all!! GO PANTHERS!!

Counter service Pizza place. Cash only. I got a mini 2 topping pizza and tender with fries. Paid 18.50. Mini pizza is very mini, good for a child. There are games around back at well. I appreciated the fireplace because I was drenched and cold.

My fiance and I picked up some pizza and potato skins for lunch while visiting Gold Beach. It was all really good! The pizza was thin crust for sure, but I wouldn't agree with other reviews that say it was like a cracker. Slightly greasy as pizza tends to be but the quality was evident and the flavors delicious! The one front of house person was extremely nice on the phone and in person.

Came up from California. Super good food. Don't let anyone tell you they put too much cheese. That's not true. Wings and fries were so great! I think the pizza could have been in the oven longer, but overall it was super yummy and hit the spot. Prices are really affordable for great portions. If I travel here again, I will for sure stop with my family. The kids loved the game room. Great way to pass time waiting for food. Wasn't a long wait either.

Amazing pizza. They were closed on Monday when I tried to order.. and the anticipation killed me, but Tuesday.. they lived up to my expectations! Great pizza. Not to thick, not chewy. I just wish they were open inside, to sit in and enjoy HOT from the oven pizza. But, slightly not hot and in my room - was also great pizza. Delightful staff as well.

Good beer, excellent sandwiches. Unusual setup though. You order at the counter and they give you a number placard similar to Carl's Jr. Then some one brings you your dinner. Drinks you have to go get and there is no wait staff. Still though, food was great and service prompt.

Great pizza. We have had their pizza several times and they were wonderful every time. People were very friendly and helpful. Another trip and once again great pizza. Had the onion rings and they were perfect. A cold one to wash it down and you can't get much better. Good job! It's been a while since I last posted on Sunset and I have had several pizzas here since then. They have all been great. We were there 3 days ago with two other couples visiting from out of state. We all loved the pizzas we ordered and they were pleasantly surprised by how good they were. They said it was some of the best they had ever had. It's good to know that when you take friends out to get something to eat that you don't have to worry about whether it's going to be good or not. I have found this place to be consistent and good.

We stayed 2 nights in Gold Beach. I'm assuming the pandemic reduced all the eateries around here. The few restaurants open are always packed. Sunset was always busy but they had Lizza to go, so we had pizza on our balcony watching sunset. We 3 loved their pizzas. Had em 2 nights. Great food and friendly/professional staff. Thank you. They also had great local were available to go too. Love the Arch Rock Lager.

Located just off 101 this is a quick stop while on a road trip, the food was great. With home made thin crust pizza, large slices of Canadian bacon, great garlic bread, all for a good price. I would recommend this place.

Pizza Crust was hard and cardboard like. Pizza Sauce tastes bad.  Staff made the first Pizza Wrong because they did not read the ticket. So the other pizza we order was allowed to get Rock hard in the Oven waiting for the the replacement for the Botched order.  Sad that instead of offering new fresh pizzas they sent us home with rock hard Pizza that went in the garbage.

Amazing pizza and relaxing place to enjoy a beer by the fire.

Good, handmade pizza- a nice place to eat yummy food

Good food, wonderful service, gluten free (GF) options & knowledgeable staff. I was blown away by the atmosphere when I walked in, not what I was expecting in a pizza place in a small town. Large clean windows, beautiful and fun local art, I was in love. While ordering our food the staff was really helpful and made sure that every thing we ordered was 100% GF, and assured us (without us asking) that our food would not be cross contaminated. There's not only pizza, my non-GF friends enjoyed spicy chicken wings and I "snaked" on potato sinks. I was really pleased with the pizza. Usually when you get a GF pizza the crust is gewy or is too soft & sweet. While the crust was a little thin it taste good and had the right texture, over all the pizza was great not amazing but I'd eat it again. There's a great space for parties in the back and games for the kids. Like I said the foods not amazing but if your in Gold Beach and you want pizza you gotta get it at Sunset Family Pizza.

Pretty bad. That sort of typical Oregon cracker-crust garbage pizza. If that's your thing... go for it. Otherwise, take another half hour and go to Zola's near Brookings.

Great pizza!! We had a medium 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 Canadian Bacon or ham not positive didn't matter it was so good. We shared a Caesar salad between a family of 4, it was plenty for us. The food was great!!! The owners...are even better!!!! They went out of their way to accommodate us when we came in just before closing and their ovens had just been turned off. It was late and we were looking for a hotel when Carol one of the owners got out her phone book and just started calling hotels for us. We sat and rested, while they let us charge our phones, and enjoy great pizza and caeser salad, while Carol called hotels for us. What awesome people Brad and Carole are, the owners of this restaurant.

Wow!. What a wonderful discovery. Well worth the drive down from Port Orford and maybe worth a drive from our home in Salem. <br/><br/> Incredible food, people and service. The pizza was perfect. Chewy, crispy/snappy crust with a spot on cheese/sauce/topping ratio on my large combo. Sandwiches are huge, with fresh chewy ciabatta rolls holding in the generous portions. Onion rings...these may be reason alone to visit. Huge portion of amazing rings, perfectly fried in a very nice beer batter, I do not know why they only charge $3.95 for this feast.<br/><br/>If we lived in the area...we'd be regulars :) Thank you Carla for this very pleasant island of great food.

If yur from out of town been at the beach Nice big place to stop ! Pizza is good and game room in the back is nice , also fast service was a nice lunch stop .

Pizza is less than appetizing. Good salads though. The game room is the only reason we ate there. Would not go back.

Meat Lover's Pizza. Delightfully smoky linguica and large format thin sliced pepperoni makes this a "meat lovers" worth truly loving.

The menu crows about “dough made fresh daily”, and it showed. Although the crust was thicker than my usual preference, it passed the test of being crispy and chewy at the same time.
