The Red Headed Traveler

I’ve been on a real Thai food kick as of late. But as I’ve mentioned countless times, when a new ethnic restaurant opens up in the suburbs, one that isn’t Chinese, you simply must go. Back in May I was driving and saw a sign that said “Le Thai Cafe.” Between the fact that it had a French definite article in its name and it was Thai food, I was intrigued. So back one Saturday over the summer when we were local and running errands, we headed there for lunch.
Got take out here for the first time ever and I'm in love!!!! Clearly fresh ingredients, perfect spice level and great portions! My fiancé and I decided to start with the crab rangoon, what a pleasant surprise to find REAL crab inside with just the right amount of cream cheese so it wasn't overpowering. We both got curry, he opted for green, I went for the red. Both were fantastic, well balanced in vegetable to chicken to broth ratio and reasonably priced. I can't wait to eat here again!
Great Thai restaurant. My husband & I went there for Valentines day & loved it. Went back about 3 weeks later and was happy to see the new menu. The green curry was great. You will not be disappointed.
Just what this area needed!. Great food & excellent service! Just what we needed here in the north hills area. Totally transformed the interior of the former Café Venice. Great place to stop for a coffee drink in the evening or anytime. Stop in....I don't think you will be disappointed!
I LOVE this place. I had Tom Yum noodle and Pad See ew noodle for lunch. They both taste wonderful. Staff was very friendly. Fried ice cream for a dessert was also a bomb. From outside it doesn't look very special, but inside is very cosy. Price was reasonable and the foods tasted like real Thai food. I would definitely come back :)
Came here 2 months ago for dinner. The food was excellent and portions were decent. Presentation was very nice. Service was a little slow with refilling drinks, etc. Spiciness level goes up to 10, I think. Atmosphere was fun. Overall a great experience. Recommended!
Food was pretty good at a fair price! The Tom Yum & Tom Kah soups were particularly good! The place seemed rather empty, and table service was so-so taking into fact the lack of other patrons. It seems like most people like to stop by for take-out rather than dine in.
This really is a nice little place. It's warm and inviting inside with a good rustic theme. The Kom tah was great and the service was prompt. Our entrees were fresh and flavorful.
We both ordered our entrees at a 5/10 heat. Mine I would say was about a 2/10 and my wife's entree had no perceptible spice/heat. I do confess, I eat at quite a number of Thai and Indian restaurants, and since this one is located alone in a suburb, I'm thinking they "go easy" on the spices for the locals. It's worth the visit and return business.
Food was ready very quickly after we ordered it. Delicious Pad Thai!
