I'm sorry... I really wanted to like Ludwig's. I've driven by here thousands of times, and my wife and I have talked about going there countless times. As the pandemic drove on, and things started to open up, they posted on Facebook and it looked amazing! So we went... I wanted to like it, I tried really hard... But it was bad! The server messed up my drink order, which was ok, it happens. She corrected it after 5min or so. I got a burger, Pittsburgh rare. Not common, but not unheard of. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. They brought me a new burger that was super charred, and not cooked properly... I'm thinking they used frozen patties? I didn't finish. My wife got a wedge salad, and they forgot part of it that she asked for. The flat bread and snapper soup were good (I didn't have the snapper, my wife did). Nothing was very good. It kills me to say that. For the price, especially with everything going on like it is, I expected just expected a higher quality. Bummed.

We were the last diners in that night because they were closing early but we ate without problems. Server was very understanding and did a great job.

I gave this 4 stars, because, why not try to help our restaurants at such a difficult time to try to do business? My wife and I both had the onion soup. I'm always on the lookout for "the best" onion soup. Maybe not the very best here, but real good. She got a salad with chicken. Some of her greens were bitter to her. I got the chicken Ribeye. It was good, but the name invoked Ribeye, and it wasn't that good! My rice was dry. The broccoli was good. Laying off the caffeine at night, I got some apple juice and it was a nice touch and I'd do that again. The place is rather pricey. If I am going to do pricey, then I want flavor I have to talk about on the ride home and the next day. Such was not the case. Flavors did not match the prices. But at a time where quiet places to eat with a menu offering a good meal are hard to find, this place works, and I'd go again and maybe try some of the other fare that was available.

Cheerful Hostess sat us promptly. Our Waiter, Brandon Joyce was very friendly & immediately got a drink order. That's where it ends. The Food was DISAPPOINTING. My Mother's French Onion was good with plenty of cheese. Having been to ENGLAND, I had Fish & Chips. The Platter consisted of 2 Gordon's Fish Fillets with plenty of French Fries at $17. Would rather have Store Bought Mrs. Paul's. My Mom's Oysters, in her words were OKAY. All for $65 & a Tip for Brandon who was Excellent.. Service is nice but people go to Restaurants for the FOOD.. Doubtful we'll be back..

Very pretty rustic restaurant with an upscale feel. Even the bathroom is gorgeous. The oyster bar is walled in white subway tile with a cool mirror on one wall. Friendly, efficient service. The rolls arrived with herb dipping oil and were warm and absolutely delicious. Sadly that was the best part of the meal. I ordered the duck and it arrived pretty well cooked with a nice blackberry sauce, but the garlic mashed potatoes needed more garlic - I couldn't taste it all - and the steamed broccoli was boring and uninspired. My co-worker ordered salmon topped with the chef's choice of some chopped roasted tomatoes I believe and the salmon was dry and totally overcooked. She got the same limp steamed broccoli. Despite the attractive setting, I would skip this restaurant next time.

We used the curbside pickup. Fast and easy. I will definitely visit again when back in town. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly.

Our family usually comes here fir special occasions, mostly because it’s one of my personal favorite restaurants. The soup sampler and crab cakes are always phenomenal, and the oysters are great as well. I always have a good experience here, and the staff are friendly too!

One of the best restaurants in PA. Ludwig’s serves some of the freshest seafood I’ve ever had. If you like oysters, I strongly recommend the Beau Soleils. Besides the food, they have a great atmosphere, friendly staff and phenomenal service. I wish I could give this place an extra star!
