Review Sustebia - Glendale

This restaurant is truly impressive. After running errands, a friend and I were looking for a spot to grab some lunch. We both agreed to try something new rather picking a regular food chain. Sustébia looked like an interesting spot to try. It is a small restaurant but the atmosphere was welcoming. There are many different types of dishes to choose from and the prices are exceptional. Just a tip, this is a Tapas type of restaurant so do not except combo with your choice. I chose a few items; ceviche, chicken taquitos and one of the house favorites, pan-seared beef spring roll. My friend went with vegetarian choices; Asian mandu & a cheese pan-seared spring roll. The food was presented beautifully on the large squared white plates & very delicious. Stephanie who is one of the owners, assisted me and my friend throughout the our meal. She ensured we taken care during our dining experience. Boy I can't wait till I come back to try the rest of the menu. Sustébia was a winner in my book. This place has a little something for everyone, meat lovers & vegetarians. Quality food at an excellent price.

The hidden gem in Glendale. I would comfortably describe this as a global or international type of restaurant. At first I was taken back because the menu items were so cheap, however; each dish is prepared with quality ingredients. Since all items are less than $10 I order 3 separate dishes. a) Crispy Mac & Cheese: By far this is a classic dish served with a twist. I simply enjoyed it because it was easy to eat and of the crunchiness. b) Pan Seared Beef Spring Roll: Wow! Explosive flavor and filling. Sustébia is not the typical restaurant, it's a Tapas style. I have never had a spring roll like this before. The dish was served beautifully with an immense of flavor with the tender beef mixed in with the peanut butter sauce. This has to be a house favorite. c) Asian Vegetable Mandu: Typically I am not a fan of vegetarian because I love meat, but this was absolutely wonderful. The mandu was cooked nicely and served in an intricate shape which I have not seen before. I ordered the 10 piece for $5.50. Really 10 pieces for less than $6. I calling that a steal. I cannot wait until my next visit @ Sustébia. Wonderful pleasant staff, quality food at a cheap price.

Love this restaurant! The owner and staff are very accomidating. We are vegan and the owner made us a special vegan meal that wasn't on the menu! We felt so at home and welcomed. Very affordable prices, simply delicious food. We are excited that such a good restaurant is in this area!

What a wonderful experience @ Sustébia this past weekend. I have heard so many wonderful things about this place from friends. Sustébia is located right off the cross streets of Broadway & Maryland. There are many options for parking; street, free parking at the Galleria or the most convenient is the parking structure adjacent to the restaurant. Just a FYI - the first 90 minutes are free and just a few bucks more for any additional time spent. Sustébia offers table, bar and patio seating. Since I came in with a group of 9, we decided to get the table towards the back of the restaurant. Now this is not your typical type of restaurant; because you order your food at the front, find a table and wait for the server to bring your food. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. It has a bright, warm, open and friendly vibe. The menu offers a variety of dishes from different cultures such as Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, etc. Stephanie (Owner) was very kind & friendly. She told me what were some of the signature & favorite dishes among the customers. So I had to go with the "Pan Seared Beef Spring" and I was craving some Ramen. *Spicy Ramen: You the choice of either regular or spicy. I recommend spicy, if your fan of that type of flavor. The dish was good and served with veggies which gave the dish balance. *Pan Seared Beef Spring Roll: This is my favorite! I highly recommend this delightful dish because you have the choice between chicken or beef (Get the Beef!) and its not your typical spring roll. The presentation was nicely put together as well. I call this the "Asian Burrito" because of the generous portion & it's very filling. Chef Suzay tops the spring roll with a peanut sauce which boosts the flavor of the dish. A must try! The owners of the Sustébia Stephanie & Chef Suzay are sweethearts. The customer service is excellent & the food is absolutely delicious. Most of all the prices!! Both dishes came out to be under $12. For that type of quality, I would expect to pay much more. This restaurant will not break your pockets. I am definitely coming back soon to try more of their wonderful menu items. *UPDATE* Chef Suzay is no longer operating at Sustébia. The new chef Diana is awesome! She has brought her palate of gourmet desserts to the restaurant. The Creme Brulee is on point. Also the new style of the Mac N Cheese is delicious. But of course all the menu items are delicious.
