Review La Piazza Al Forno - Glendale

We had a great experience. The pizza was so good and delicious. Also, the lady who served us was very nice, fun, and funny as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get her name. She made our night joyful, and we appreciate her. We just would like to recommend working on the lightening of the place. It was almost dark , and we could barely read the menu.

DELICIOUS PIZZA!!! I repeat, delicious pizza!! My husband and I are self-proclaimed pizza aficionados. We have always loved pizza and found another fabulous place in Florence, Italy from one of Guy’s DDD episodes. We have tried to find pizza that good in the US and have always fallen short. Not anymore, this is it!! It’s just a coincidence that Guy also came to this pizzeria in Glendale, but clearly for good reason. The pizza dough is fantastic with a thin crust and thick fluffy crust on the outside. Our favorites were the Dolce Diavola (spicy) and the Mediterranean (pesto base). If you find the service is slow, try to remember that Rome wasn’t built in 5 minutes. The quality is well worth it and people just have shorter attention spans these days. We will be back and it will be a new must go to for us when we are in Arizona. Don’t be surprised if you see us again before our current trip is over!

Wow the pizza was fantastic, the kiddo had a calzone stuffed with meat and cheese. I had the Italian stallion and our friends had a custom margarita pizza. I forgot the names of the other pizzas ordered on was Mediterranean and the other was a spicy hot one LoL. The staff was top notch too.

As someone who just visited Europe recently, I went to this place specifically to find that Neapolitan pizza place that might be reminiscent of the pizzerias I ate at during my trip. And this place was definitely that. Pleased to know there's an authentic Neapolitan pizza place near my home I can enjoy at affordable pricing. Also if you're an introvert like me, they have scannable menus that allow you to order and pay completely online via your phone. But you still have a waiter that regularly checks in on you. So it's like the best of both worlds. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great Pizza ! We shared the Italian stalian And we also had fried meatballs , they were awesome ! My husband ordered cheesecake for dessert and I had to have a Few bites they put powdered sugar on top ( like a bakery in Lyndhurst NJ does ) I'm sure that we will be back !! Just delicious! Great service ! Best pizza that I have had since ,moving to Arizona from the East Coast .

The meatballs were amazing. I haven't had something like that in YEARS and I haven't been able to find anything come close to them here in AZ. The pizza was just as amazing. The sauce, cheese, and the all-star crust is one of the best I've ever had. Simple Machine Brewery pairs well with it as well.

I enjoyed my pizza , but I didn't love it. I got the Funghi and the mushrooms were baked to the point of drying out, which doesn't lead to the best flavor. The server appeared to be the only front of house staff at the time , but kept up on water and never left our table waiting too long. Restaurant was also really hot in the back . I will be returning in the future to try again

This is a really cool Italian food in downtown Glendale. I didn't expect it to be this GOOD!!! I highly recommend making a reservation on time, even for two people, the wait can be long, but it's worth it. I order Chicken Pesto Cannelloni, Funghi and Tomatoe E Mozzarella Panino. It tasted so freshed and delicious. To get your food it can take some time, but the wait is worth it. To get Parking you can find in the back of the building or by the park but it is really nice to walk around the area.

I found out about this place from the famous TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and I really wanted to try. It's an authentic Italian restaurants with a good variety in their menu. I tried the house salad that comes with the red wine vinaigrette made in house and the Salvatore pizza. Both were delicious, service was friendly and quick! Quicker than I expected. I can't wait to try their pastas!

First timer 🙋🏻‍♀️. I ordered the Margherita and it was mind blowing. Our waitress was very helpful with explaining the differences between the pizzas. The restaurant was small and packed with people but def worth the little wait. Will be returning soon!

This place made my top 5 favorite pizza spots. Not all the places featured on Diners, Drive ins, and dives are good, but this hit the spot..

My pregnant fiancé was craving Italian. The reviews were amazing so we had to try it. We been there for dinner two nights in a row already. We enjoyed the Italian stallion pizza and it was amazing! And if you’re able to save room for dessert make sure to try the cheesecake!

The Roman pizza here is some of the best pizza I have ever had. The crust is perfect, the dough is fluffy, and the flavors all blend together in the most indulging way. I highly recommend this pizza shop.

Still in search of better pizza than the average pies you find on the west side, and after reading some good things about al Forno, we decided to give it a try while cruising the chocolate festival in downtown Glendale. All we ordered was the Filetti d.o.c. which is basically a spin off of a margarita pizza, but a notch higher on the flavor scale, and a house salad. We added prosciutto (+ $3) for a protein with the added touch of salt. The place wasn't super busy (and nothing fancy either, but good food and service doesn't need fancy) when we showed up at 4pm on Saturday, so the pie came out in less than 10 minutes. Their wood fire oven is highly efficient. As pizza goes, it didn't have the "wow" factor, but it was very good. The imported pomodorini tomatoes were absolutely delicious, packed with foreign flavor, and added a touch of class to it's taste, but it definitely could have used and extra helping of garlic and basil (the garlic was pretty much concentrated right in the center of the pie, and disappeared as we worked our way to the crust). The prosciutto was applied quite generously, but was barely cooked as the pizza was baked so quickly, and was so chewy it was hard to bite though, and doubly tough to cut with a knife. Our only thought would have been to pan fry the prosciutto (a bit) ahead of time so after it bakes on top of the pizza it comes out a little drier and crisp at the edges (think bacon). The salad was fresh and just fine thought the cherry tomatoes were a bit green, and are served on small plates, so you have plenty of spill-over on the table. Over all, it was really good and a great afternoon treat, and without question the best pie we've tried west of 51st Ave. The service was somewhat rushed as it appeared they were gearing up for the dinner hour, but better rushed than slow, right? The unisex bathroom (there's 2) was somewhat dirty and could have used some attention, but it served it's purpose. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and would definitely visit again if in the area.

The best pizza I’ve eaten in my entire life, had the Salvatore pizza and the ingredients are so fresh, that prosciutto is sweet, the mozzarella cheese tasted like the one I used to eat in my childhood, what else can i say?truly divine !

We've eaten there three times, pizza every time. The food was great as well as the service. Fully intend to try some pasta at some point, but the pizza is so damn good!

We had lunch today and I can't recommend this place the pizza was soggy the crust wasn't crisp it wasn't the same as I saw on tv the price they charge is extremely high for what you get it was nothing special they said the ingredients were shipped in from Italy I think they wasted there money on some of them .But the cheesecake was great the best thing we had.

We went with 2 kids a 4 and 14 yr old, we asked for a plain slice of cheese, the waitress said they dont do that then we asked if they could just leave the toppings off of what would be a slice she replied we dont do that either, the 12” really is only 6 slices almost no cheese on it either we wound up picking off all the meat toppings to find my 4 yr old ate a piece of bread w a bit of sauce on it... $3 for a bottled soda w no refill, the fried ravioli is only 4 on the plate.. the food is decent but for the prices i can find other places around town for better and cheaper...

Food is ok,that's what the one star is for. The place is dark and dingy looking. The waitress was almost belligerent when we asked for bread and even worse when we asked for cheese for our pasta. There were four at our table and she brought a tiny container with about one tablespoon of cheese for all four of us. When we asked for more she looked disgusted and stormed away to get another tiny bit same as the first one. The entree portions were tiny and overpriced for the amount you get and not even a salad to go with it. I don't know what Guy Fieri saw in this place to come and waste his time.
