I've always loved Gaskins...its a beautiful space, with thoughtful service and a great menu that changes seasonally. But the way they are managing this Covid crisis has sent my love and respect into the 5 star arena. They are doing absolutely everything they can to respect the health of their staff and their diners. They are communicating clearly the expectations for dining on their porches, and they are still serving up delicious, beautiful, seasonal, creative food. You can feel the staff are smiling behind their masks, and I was certainly smiling behind mine. Thank you, Gaskins.

Their menu changes with the seasons, and they always are trying new things. I am continually impressed with their changes, and it always leaves me wanting to come back for more. And it’s almost all locally sourced too! Their drinks list has changed since I had come 3 years ago, and they have drinks for every palette.

Oh my gosh this place is just perfect, being a aficionado of the Marlow’s guys in bk for many years this feels like an expansion outpost up in the Hudson area! Very honest cooking and relaxed atmosphere! Been here four times the last year and each time have been so good!

Excellent take out dinner tonight from Gaskins!!! Every dish was packed with flavor and fresh ingredients - best take out meal I’ve had since the start of COVID! Easy ordering system on the website and quick and friendly pick up. The Negroni for 2 was SPOT ON! Thank you!!!

Dining outside and curbside pickup. Food tasted good but overpriced for a small country town. This restaurant isnt catering to locals.

My wife and I have been here twice. The first time was better than the second.
We were told that it was a 30 minute wait for a table for 2 on Saturday night, and we could wait at the bar. Not a problem since it's Saturday night plus the day after Valentine's Day, so we assumed it would be busy. Unfortunately there were no available seats at the bar, so we had to stand the whole time. The bartenders were all incredibly attentive, and we had no problem flagging someone down to get a cocktail.
After being seated, our waitress was incredibly attentive. She checked on us often, and made sure we didn't need anything. She actually overheard me saying to my wife that I should have ordered a coffee during dessert, and was immediately stopped to ask me if I would like to order one. I wish I got her name.
The drinks here are fantastic. Their cocktails, like their food, focus on local fresh ingredients. They also always have Suarez Family Brewery beer on tap as the owners of the two establishments are brothers. The brewery is well worth the visit if you're in the area and is very close by.
For the food, my wife got the beef tartar appetizer and duck breast entrée. I got the beet salad and sausage entrée. My wife enjoyed her food, but my food was more memorable during our first visit. I love beets, so I really enjoyed the salad. My sausage entrée was unfortunately pretty dry and had a ton of lentils. The best part of my meal was the turnips and salad on the plate.
Gaskins remains one of our favorite restaurants in the Hudson Valley, and we'll be sure to come back.

Visited on a Monday night—great ambience and the service was super friendly :) The food, however, was a bit disappointing :/ Portions were generous, but the dishes tasted unfinished. The tartare proved best of the evening but something left to be desired. The pork chop was overcooked and lacked flavor. It’s too bad as past experiences have proven to be better.
