The Eagle Cliff Inn

Here’s the moral to the story - and I’ll give details afterward: Eagle Cliff Inn has new owners and it is NOTHING like it had been when owned by Jerry & Lu. I have stayed at the inn every year for 13 years! Don’t be fooled…The great reviews and nearly 5-star ratings are carry-overs from previous ownership. The lovely photos on the Eagle Cliff website are also carry-overs from the previous owners. A little bait and switch? The new owners are obviously coasting on the previous reputation of excellence that Jerry & Lu earned. Now the details: In less than one year since ownership transferred, the inn has fallen into disrepair and the simplest amenities (such as bedding and towels) seem to be the cheapest they could find. It starts at the front porch where two dead hanging plants set the tone for what we should expect. A few steps further, we found a badly torn screen in the door. A long strand of severed speaker wire hung loosely next to the door. One outdoor sconce was burnt out while one of the porch fans didn’t work. Many light fixtures inside didn’t work including the stairwell lighting (safety???). There are large cracks and badly patched holes throughout the interior. Bare screws remain in walls all over where previous decor had been removed. The ceiling fan in our bathroom was teeming with dead bugs and the vents were literally overflowing with dirt and dust. And don’t look too closely into the toilet bowl. (I’ll leave that one there.) I could go on but these examples should paint the (grim) picture. The inn is now the same “class” as the many roadside motels that serve the strip - but with a higher price tag while the owners leverage the PREVIOUS glory of the Eagle Cliff. It’s a place to flop, no more than that. And it’s not even been a year since the new owners took over. I can’t imagine what it will become in another year and beyond. May I propose a new, more fitting, name? How about “Seagull Sinkhole”?

We rented the entire house; had a girls' night party. It was fabulous. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Bedrooms were all very comfortable with a bathroom in each room. The front porch was exceptional! We rented a golf cart to make access to the rest of the Strip easier. The only downside is there is no bathroom on the first floor.

NEW OWNERS since 2021 Eagle Cliff Inn Main House -No Longer a Lovely B & B Disregard ALL reviews/pictures prior to 2021 This is no longer a B & B, you must rent the whole house. Checking in,we had numerous issues and reported them in 24 hrs as instructed. No one EVER responded or remedied the issues. Numerous light bulbs burnt out . Most concerning was the missing bulbs in stairwell. Had to crawl on floor to pull plug to turn off TV, remote not working. TV would not work in one of the rooms. Screen on door punched out.. After text was sent out we found more- no light by shower in Front bedroom Safety? Bathroom floor not clean. Additionally,gone are nice bedspreads, valances, towels,sheets,bathrugs. Notable disrepair and/or cheapening in every room. A doorway to another part of the inn was sealed off with plain plywood. The kitchen is mostly new with an old discolored refrigerator. Many utensils and cooking items appear to be from thrift stores or garage sales. Oven was filthy. A Refrigerator was placed just inside the front door in the one previous small sitting room where one table was recently moved, that’s 3 refrigerators in the Inn? One person would be sitting directly in front of the window air conditioner. When I walked in, I pulled the sheer curtain out of the air conditioner , as it was being sucked into the unit. The other table is in the main room .A full house would no longer be able to dine together in one room. ****We arranged 3 times to make payment- All no-shows by owners. . After the #3 no-show the owner texted (several parties were away from the inn at that time) and an alternate payment method was suggested. Silence…We would have expected a response ‘ Sorry – that is unacceptable our policy is.. ‘ . instead a Text was received saying the Police were on the way for defrauding a business. Context – Many of us have been staying at the Inn for over 10 years. Our arrangements to stay with the Inn were made with the help of the former owners. We are 55–72 years old,a disabled Navy Veteran, a Marine Veteran, retired Police , and Professionals. The police were dispatched with one owner. The other owner’s wife wore a profanity laced t-shirt, which I am unable to print here, words start with a B and an F and included the word you, and processed our payments. Payment was made without incident,as we were ready to do on Thursday, Friday, and earlier on Sunday had the owner showed up as expected as indicated in texts. Sad to see a wonderful business ran so many years, by wonderful people who actually cared about their cliental, go downhill so fast. *** Note the stark contrast between my bedroom and front porch photos and the ones posted on the site
