Pastaz Italian Cuisine

We've been a few times. Food is quite good and decor is nice. Service is mediocre, prices are a bit high for the location, and hours are very limited. The woman denied our party of five (met us at the door and blocked our entry) a full hour before closing claiming the kitchen was closed. There is no mention online or on any obvious signage stating when the kitchen closes. I said to her, "It's says your open till 9 online" and all I got was a blank stare. I don't think we'll be going back.

Been there probably 15 times never have I ever had a bad meal. The food is excellent and the service too. But I was shocked when we were leaving two guys came in wanting a table for five and were told they didn't have one. Now mind you they have 2 tables for six that were full then they have tables for 4&2 people. They would not put two tables together shocking as the restaurant has 13 tables total and there was only a total of 4 tables being used. The woman in front of the restaurant has no hospitality it was a slow night. They left saying they would never came back. Guess they don't need the money.

Fabulous experience at Pastaz! The Chicken Alfredo and Spaghetti Maria (a spicy marinara sauce with sausage) were very flavorful - definitely the best my wife and I have ever had! The pasta meals come served in the skillet, so they're plenty warm... and the portions are very generous! The salad and bread were also quite good. The ambience was nice; definitely on the fine-dining side, but still with reasonable entree prices (mid-teens)... and absolutely worth it for the quality and quantity! Very good service, too! I only wish we didn't live 3 hours away! Perhaps Pastaz can somehow expand throughout Maine and into Southern NH, while still replicating their experience? ;-)

We have been going to pastaz a few times a year pretty much since they've opened. Food is good but their customer service is lacking. Went tonight with a party of 7. They said that they only served party sizes up to 6. I said that's fine we will do a table of 4 and a table of 3. The waitress said they did not have those size tables available. I pointed out that there were two tables of 4 that were right next to where we were standing. After about 30 seconds of a blank stare from the hostess I laughed and said we were good and we went on our merry little way. I cannot for the life of me fathom why you would turn customers away. You are a local business who I have been happy to support and recommend over the years. I'm sorry that after the rude reception I received tonight I will no longer be able to do that.
