Smokin' Jonny's Bbq

I bought the Family Pack_3 Meat that serves 4 to 6 people. We had 5 people over to eat this delicious bbq and still had lots left over. Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Cole Slaw, BBQ Beans, Potato Salad. The Beef Brisket is very juicy and tender. Pork Ribs have really nice sauce but a little bit of a tug off the bone, BBQ Chicken has a really good flavor and very tender. Cole Slaw is a little bit sweet kind of similar to KFC which I like. BBQ Beans with pieces of brisket in it which make extra delicious. Potato Salad has a nice flavor and potato's are cooked perfect. Deep Fried Cornbread is a must try, delicious. Gotta try this place you won't be disappointed.

I tasted the BBQ ribs here and they were nasty, trying to be soul, they fall way short. It was my first time trying them so I asked a black man if they were good and he paused and said his other options were not available. My sister says that people who say bad/nasty food is okay/good do so because they themselves can’t/don’t cook. I know how to cook and this was nasty I tried them last year.

So, I had heard good things about "the BBQ truck" that posts up on Atlantic Ave in Bixby Knolls (Long Beach), but never got to try it until this past weekend. There was an ample offering of meats. I went with the Brisket (yum!). Each plate came with potato salad and baked beans. The "Pitmaster", Damien, was welcoming & got started on my order right away! (Thanks D!) In no time, I was partaking in tasty, tender brisket (yum, yum!). The sauce had a lil bit of a kick and is oh, so good! The potato salad was delicious and the beans had an extra layer of flavor - not your basic baked beans! Thanks to the "Pitmaster", I was able to sample the ribs! Let me tell you, they were TENDER & seasoned so well, they didn't need any sauce! Overall, I was super pleased with the food & service! I look forward to trying other items & definitely sampling dessert!! If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say, "Hi!" to the Pitmaster (Damien) and get you some yummy BBQ...you won't be disappointed!

My wife has been raving about this BBQ place in Gardena on Western Ave. I grew up in "The DENA" I couldn't recall a BBQ spot there. Well, she got me to try it out today and I must say the BBQ is legit. Rib tips, brisket, hot links, fried cornbread (hushpuppies) and baked beans made me say "ONO!!!" Which means good stuff in Hawaiian, be back soon!
