This is a traditional Korean jeungol (nabe or hotpot) place. Mostly local Koreans seem to come here so it is a good thing. You can add extra seafood or meat items to the pot. Large size can easily feed 4 people. You can ask to add more soup stock when you want and add in eggs or noodles if you choose. As one of the side dishes they serve spicy marinated raw blue crabs if you like that. Spiciness can be varied the chili paste level. Mostly medium is still on spicy side. Of course you should order soju or makoli as your choice for alcohol.

I had a great time at On Dal Jip with my friends. We ordered the beef and octopus hotpot, which was spicy, flavorful and satisfying. The meat was tender and the octopus was chewy. The broth was rich and had a nice kick to it. The portion was generous and we had enough for leftovers. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and cozy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean food and wants a hearty meal.

The food is the best If you like the spicy food. Don’t arrive late, the official close time is 10pm but the last call is around 9pm. Don’t expect too many services. Many people complain about the service. But remember it’s not a fine dining. In an authentic Asian restaurant, they just don’t greet the customers, answer every question and provide customized food. If you successfully make it, here are the foods you must try. Spicy raw crab is very fresh and the sauce tastes much better than other places. You will regret for your life if you never try it!!! Beef tails is cooked for long time. It’s tender, juicy, tasty and perfectly greasy. No annoying smell like typical beer tails. the vegetable in the hotpot absorbs the sauce and soup completely. It’s all fresh and has no bitter taste. The pancake is also pretty good.

Food is delicious, especially if you love spicy. They have soy AND spicy marinated raw crab! Service is very curt, but just enjoy the food.

Who loves this amazing Korean hot pot like me?? My favorite: 1. Spicy beef rib + octopus This place is not fancy at all but it’s my all time favorite Korean hot pot!! I tried so many ways to cook the broth at home but I’m not getting anywhere close. They’re soooo good! The beef broth with very tender beef ribs that it falls when you touch it. Some beef tendons to add the variety textures is just bomb. And of course octopus because I love octopus! You can see how many hot pots I have had here already. I can’t get enough of this place! The side dishes (banchan) are also really good, from their corn cheese to their spicy blue crabs.

Ondal is one of my go-to places for Korean food. I always go to this place with my friends every two weeks, and spicy beef ribs with octopus and crab soup casserole are two of our top picks. The soup portion is in a good amount with a variety of appetizers served like cheese corn, kimchi pancake, and spicy raw crabs, and the taste is pretty good too. Strongly recommend you to add ramen and fried rice to your meal. The servers are very nice, and they’ll help you cut the octopus and the ribs. You’ll also get a dessert drink after you check.

One of my fav Korean spots in OC. The beef short rib hotpot never disappoints. You have to order extra ramen and kimchi fried rice at the end. Trust me.

One of my go to place. At first price may seem bit expensive, but if you think about the amount of food and the services it's not expensive at all. Also the food taste great.

Authentic Korean soul food olace with good combinations of seafood soup and braised seafood seammered in traditional sauce. A bit pricy but definitely worth the price. Will come back for the food and service.

Food is good. Spicy Korean seafood dishes. Small place so there's a long wait and limited menu items during weekends. Because they didn't have kid friendly dishes during weekend, they allow food to be brought in and even served from pho restaurant right next door. Still don't recommend to go with kids.

Food is great. Restaurant is popular and very busy. Prepare to wait for seating. When busy service is slow. Not enough workers like everywhere else. Portion size is almost double what you would expect. Portion for 2 is more like for 4!

great place for fresh sea food and beef. The quality and portions were absolutely satisfactory. Go after 7:30 on weekends so you don't have to wait.

We have been regulars here for years. Our favorite is their crab casserole. Service was not as friendly as before, but we still come back because food consistently tastes good. Don't forget to ask them to make fry rice after you are done with the hot pot. We usually get too full, but take it to go for next day. It tastes really good the day after.
