Texas Star Bakery - Galveston - Photo album

The lady behind the counter Told me that they only had pork in tamales spicy or mild. I told her that I would have one each. She proceeded to give me one dozen each! If she had told me it was a dozen I wouldn't have ordered it and I would have missed the best tamales I've had in 30 years! They do Of
Very good tamales and baked goods. We will come again, only earlier! We appreciate the owner taking the time to talk to us. She was busy but still made time.
The mild pork tamales are so good. The woman who owns the place needs to work on her people skills. I don't mind her at all, I'm after the tamales so I just ignore her when she says something stupid.
Best tamales in town. Their sweet bread is made a good old-fashioned way. ALWAYS GOOD đź‘Ť đź‘Ť
This is the best bakery ever . All the baked goods are so fresh and delicious . Pineapple turnover is all made fresh pineapple 🍍. My favorite.
I shop here every time I come to Galveston. The capirotada (sp?) Bread pudding is heaven in your hand. I don't like all the complaints about rudeness. I've had nice conversations with the owner. Some people are cranky.
Growing up my mom would always order tamales from Texas Star for Christmas eve. I remember them always being so good. It had probably been 15 years when we were on the island today and decided to stop by and see if we could get some tamales. We ordered a dozen and I was excited to try them again.
Best tamales I’ve found on the island. I’m sure the bakery items are very good but I don’t particularly care for Mexican pastries. I’ve tried many over the years from numerous cities. (Where’s the sugar??) Beautiful to look at while you’re waiting for your tamales though. Regular or spicy, you
The best service and the best Italian cream cake!
The banana cream, coconut cream, chocolate and apple pies, baked to order are absolutely fabulous. The lady that I placed my order with was so kind and helpful. The order was ready on time. The smell of the freshly cooking tamales was magnificent. A must visit.
