This place is an absolute classic, my family has been coming here since we’ve vacationed in Galveston. The interior is classic family Italian and keeps a little history by sharing where the water hit when the restaurant flooded previously.
The food is good although fairly mediocre. The pizza is cooked in a stone oven so the crust is very tasty but overall is nothing special. The marinara sauce is incredible and very fresh tasting so it’s good either as a dip for appetizers or for a pasta sauce.
The real special treat here are the desserts, every single one is a treat. The cannolis are a classic and the creme inside is *so* tasty. My most recent visit though I tried the strawberry pineapple cake which was mind blowing my good. If it’s on the menu, order two and take one home- you’ll want it again later.
Overall a great family spot and much better than your normal takeout pizza.
Edit 8/13/23: Came back again for an end of summer dinner, quality was still amazing and our waitress was so kind. The chopped italian salad was amazing and the dressing is so vinegary. The minestrone and fried zucchini were favorite across the table 😊.
We went to celebrate a birthday. The service was decent being that it was a group of 30 or so. Waiter didn't write anything down but got most of it write. The food itself was good, I had the seafood pasta and it had plenty of shrimp! Overall a solid Italian restaurant with great food.
An authentic restaurant as one can no longer find nowadays. Their pizzas are very delicious, you can feel the taste of their delicately prepared meals.
The decor is also impressive and apparently, they sometimes have live bands performing there.
The restaurant is next to the beach with a parking lot and can be suitable for a big celebration.
Delicious. We ate in the restaurant. We had two 12" pizzas, one cheese and one Alfredo both delicious. We also had the calamari and fried cheese to start, not pictured b2cause we were starving and I forgot lol. And last but not least We had the Parmigina which was perfectly made. The chicken wasn't hard it was very tender. I'd come back here again. Highly recommend.
Oh also, there is no parmesan or red pepper on the Alfredo. I added that before I took the picture.
Absolutely exemplary customer service provided by Alexis and Israel. I had a small mix up with my initial order that was my fault. They were quick to respond by showing genuine concern for my mistake. I’m still shocked how well they handled making it right (again my fault!). Positive recognition given to you both, thank you for going out of y’all’s way for us!
Mario’s restaurant is an absolute necessary to try. The food quality is AMAZING! Yum yum. Okay! Time to eat!
Excellent deck oven pizza. Fresh ingredients and fresh crust. Servers were very nice and accommodating. We had the Mario's Special and it was fantastic! All the flavors blended perfectly, fresh sauce and deck oven crust made for a perfect pizza. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the calamari. It was chewy. Wish I would have gone with the fried cheese as it looked good and seemed like a favorite among other guest.

Ordered a few different meals to go. This place is a little run down and needs some updating. The cashier was great and kept me informed when my order was ready. I had lasagna and it was edible and okay tasting but I would not order again. My husband had the chicken sandwich and fries. He didn't care for it too much. I like the fries. They didn't have any salt on it which I like. Also got the kids ravioli. The price of the kids meal was high considering you don't get a drink and you only get 4 ravioli. It did taste good though and I would order it as an adult meal. Ordered key lime pie for dessert. It was great!! I loved it and definitely recommend it. My husband had the Cheesecake and it was also very good. Next time, I will try the pizza.
We got there about 1245 for the buffet, waited about 5min to be seated cause of dirty tables. Very little pizza, but they quickly refilled. Teresa was our server and did a great job. Very tasty and we ate to much. Good value for the price. We'll be back
Best Fettuccine Alfredo ever! Don't bother ordering with shrimp. No need to "gild the lily"! Excellent all by itself. Laid back atmosphere. Hostess & server were great. I highly recommend.
