Review County Line Cafe - Galax

We were told to go there, so we decided to give it a try. Didn’t feel very clean inside. Waitress was very nice. I ordered chicken strips, they came out very dry and tough. Sides ordered was sweet potato but that was sold out. Ordered beans and coleslaw. Beans were ok but lacked flavor. Coleslaw was very runny and no Flavor. Never received our roll or cornbread. Asked for pie for desert but they were out of that too.

Wow. The almost 5 star review if misleading. For a lunch for two, at 12:30PM, weekday, the deviled eggs tasted like sour rubber. The corn bread was a hard rock. Mac N Cheese had no flavor. I think their menu is too large and everything turns out poorly. The waitress forgot 3 items (sauce, salad and some extra mayo) and acted a bit put out when we asked for a second time. I am not sure what you could order... the cheeseburger seemed ok. A disappointment.

This was my first time eating here. The food was excellent and the service was curtious and prompt. I ordered the Carolina BBQ and pinto beans and cornbread. The beans were cooked well and seasoned great. The cornbread was fluffy and not greasy which was nice. The barbeque was delicious and tender. The food was just overall fantastic. The place was quite busy when I arrived about 6pm but I didn't have to wait for a seat and the server came right out and did arrived quickly. It was a pleasant experience and I'd definitely eat here again.

What a gem!!! It is no-frills comfort food at its best. I work in the area once per month. I was not feeling the typical fast food chains so I just drove around. This was the only place with a full parking lot so I pulled in. It has gray painted cinderblock walls and a few decorations here and there. The inside could use a little TLC, but The staff is really friendly and they seem to works their “backs” off. I had the chicken filet biscuit with Home fries and coffee. The biscuit was what I was hoping for in the south and the potatoes - the potatoes! - were awesome. I am a potato junkie (my husband calls me spud) and these were perfection. The prices were reasonable- I had the full meal plus tip for about what I would have paid at McDonald’s and it was much better! I will definitely be back.

This place....smh there is no words hardly. Food is plain and bland. Meatloaf looked like dog food and everything was half warm. NEVER AGAIN!
