Review Bagels & Noodles - Gainesville

Juan Jurado-Blanco
I came back! And this time this food spot deserves a 5 starts. The food was fantastic, this is definitely a hidden gem amongst Gainesville. I started off with the fried dumplings and a soup. The Ruben sandwich was my favorite out of them all. Pad Thai was very very good, good mix of flavors. The execution from start to finish was fantastic. We got the chance to explore other items of the menu, and the high quality standard was always kept on point.

Classic American breakfast place with Vietnamese menu items! Pleasantly surprised with this place. It was busy the day after a game day but we were able to be seated quickly. I got the cafe sua da (Vietnamese Iced Coffee) and it was great. The American breakfast items were made quickly and perfectly cooked to my tastes. The bagels were decent, too, but they were just a side star to my main dish. I definitely plan on coming back and want to try the Vietnamese broth noodle soups. Limited parking so anticipate on street parking somewhere and walking.

When I first arrived at this place, I was pretty overwhelmed by their menu, but I kinda love it. I mean I absolutely love Asian food and breakfast food, so having a place to order both was like a dream I didn't know I wanted. Food is great, service is fast, and for anyone who is hungover this is the place to go! Hope you enjoyed it like I did!

Have you ever got that soggy bacon for breakfast? This is NOT that place! Got the eggel bagel for brunch. It was great. In my opinion the bagel could have been softer, but that’s preference and I’ll be ordering again soon.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Not only did the servers mess up all four of our party‘a orders, it took beyond 45 minutes for one of our orders to come out, The order being an over easy egg and a small bowl of grits. Everything that came out on that last plate was cold, and the kitchen refused to listen to our complaint. Would not recommend

To be honest, the food is pretty mediocre. The summer rolls had too much vermicelli noodles in comparison to lettuce, mint, and shrimp. The pho broth was sort of one note and they didn't even provide additional cilantro, basil, or jalapeno slices as part of the side. Bagels tasted like they came from the grocery store. I probably won't come again. However, the staff was very nice. The interior was sort of run down, but it isn't trying to be fancy. Prices were fair for what you got. Vietnamese grille is better for pho, bahn mi, and summer rolls in Gainesville.

The food was disappointing. My bagel was over toasted, it was very very very VERY hard and crunchy (maybe it's just an accident, but anyways it was way too hard), and the homefries (unexpectedly they are just potatoes cubes that I think are refried potato shells and some of them are burned) I say shells because the outside of the "fries" have a rubbery texture and they are pretty much empty inside. The egg was not cooked per my request (undercooked). Now, let's talk about the pho. The broth was very blend, watered down. It's also overpriced with the amount of meat they put in the bowl. I ordered the deluxe pho with everything and I got 1/2 of a meat ball only. Lol I have never been to a restaurant that only put half of a meat ball in your pho. (Laughing so hard as I write this). However, if it's your first time trying pho you don't have anything to compare it to, you might not notice how bad it is. But again, it's not a ideal place for pho virgins because it would give you a bad impression for pho. I am very surprised that it has good reviews... like if just one thing is off It could be an accident but the only thing that tasted right was the cream cheese because you just can't go wrong with it. Overall I do not recommend this place if you want legit tasty Asian cuisine. But even the bagels and potatoes were bad lol the pancake smelled good though but I didn't try it so I'm not sure. OK GUYS I'm done, I tried to be as honest as I can to describe my experience at this place. I hope I was just having bad luck and they actually serve good food on other days...and explain why there are so many good reviews...but I don't think I'd come again. ps. the bottle for the Hoisen sauce was so disgusting and I saw a fly crawling on the bagels that they serve. Here are some pictures and have a good day!

Absolutely the best pad thai I've ever tried! Nothing else compares. This place will definitely be the place I miss the most when I leave UF.

Great Place to eat! Everything is freshly made and they are willing to change things up for you. My daughter is vegan and found many things on the menu she could eat. Also, they are willing to adapt dishes and make them vegan if you wish. Great service and great food. Go there at least once a week and have taken several friends there to try the food.

Excellent bun bo hue and the best price in town. Love eating there and taking out. Huge portions and very flavorful. I've never had Vietnamese food before bagels and noodles, now they see me at least once a week...

5 stars all the way! the food was very good, and the service was fantastic. Our server hustles, and was very helpful ordering. If my wife and I lived near, we would eat there often, unfortunately we live almost 2 hours away. We hope to visit Gainesville again, we'll be sure to eat at Bagles & Noodles

Best bagels in Gainesville!! Always so fresh and chewy! They're so good that my best buddy back in NYC actually had me bring some bagels back for him...in my luggage! There other menu items are also pretty delicious

While the menu looked appetizing we never got the chance to order. We were seated and waited 15 minutes and no one ever came by to take our order. Disappointing

I was very hungry and the other Vietnamese place I normally go to was closed. So I gave bagels and noodles to try, even though I've never been extremely impressed. I figured I'd order something different and give them another chance. The server was very very nice. I had a couple questions for her about some items that I never tried some soups, and she gave me some very good advice. I did however asked for extra Thai basil, lime and bean sprouts. And I pointed to the other table where there was a large pile of bean sprouts Thai Basil and limes. When she brought out my soup there were three bean sprouts and shredded iceberg lettuce! She told me they were out of thyme basil and that this was Thai lettuce??? And would this be okay? I grimaced and said I guess but was very disappointed because I know it's Petty, but the Thai Basil bean sprouts and lime are my favorite part of the soup. Two girls next to me that came in 5 minutes after me, received Thai Basil on their plate and I didn't understand why. I ask them to pack my soup to go and let them know how disappointed I was that there was no Thai basil. As I'm driving away I'm fuming because I've just paid $21 for lunch, and now I have to go to the store and buy some more basil bringing my lunch to a $25 Excursion. Again I know this is petty, but it would have been nice if they would have told me and I would have ordered something different. Perhaps other people don't love basil as much as I do :-) go to Pho Hanoi their food is much better! Every item on their menu is delicious the prices are right. Service is not as friendly but service does not fill my tummy
