Review Mochi - Gainesville

Russell Horton
They have my favorite yogurt flavor of all time here, Taro. It is difficult to find in most yogurt shops. As for their setup they are your traditional yogurt shop. You self serve how much and as many flavors as you want, choose your toppings, and pay by weight. Worth the visit for the Taro alone.

This Mochi is very clean, and the employee was friendly and helpful. The frozen yogurt was good. They didn't have as many flavors as some frozen yogurt places, but there was enough variety to satisfy us.

Froyo is all i eat & to me, this place is the best I've ever had. They have 8 flavors. Pretty sure all of it were good. I tried the original, lychee, taro & strawberry kiwi sorbet. & i love it. The flavor is awesome and it's really frozen. Would recommend it to everyone ;) ;)

As a small local frozen yogurt chain business, Mochi should by all means thank those bigger chains that such as Yogurtland that they haven't come to Gainesville or Jacksonville to open up a location yet, because Mochi's price per ounce is almost 10 cents more than what most Yogurtland stores offer, but on the other hand, has 6-10 less flavors than Yogurtland. For stars for the friendly staff and the lychee flavor that me and my wife love most. Still, Mochi is way better than the other frozen yogurt store in town: Yogurtology, which only has a few over-sweetened and overly-creamy flavors that don't attract me at all. Additionally, guests always feel completely free to ask and fill up the sample cups, but at Yogurtology, I believe you can only ask for tastes for no more than two times and that's petty.

Flavor selection was boring and half of them weren’t even available. Topping selection was also disappointing. They weren’t labeled which made it difficult to know what you were choosing. Quality is in the details. Menchies and Yogurtogy are much better!

This was our first time visiting the Mochi location on Archer. We have had 5-star experiences at the other Mochi locations on University and Downtown. At 4:05pm (5/26/16) the employee working seemed to be a bit curt in handling our needs before approaching the counter. When my S/O thought that the price of our cups was too high she simply asked to retry the scales: " please, do you mind redoing the scales, I am not sure the price is right". I thought that the price was fair and even agreed with the employee that the amount seemed to fit the price. It was her tone getting noticlebly more rude that has made me reconsider visiting this location again, even though it is the most convenient. Simply put, if a customer has an issue with the calibration and asks for it to be done again, getting sassy and rude is no way of handling the situation. When my GF and I left she immediately told me how rude she thought the employee had been and further confirmed my suspicions. Instead of arguing over whether or not the first reading was accurate, just humoring the customer goes a long way in the field of customer service. TLDR: Visited Mochi on Archer with GF. Employee became rude and argued over the final weight of some frozen yogurt with GF. Left an impression on the both of us. First and last time visiting this location. PS - Parking was no issue. Maybe at night and during fall/spring semester but that is not necessarily the establishment's fault.

Best frozen yogurt I've found. A little expensive, but nice variety. They also don't baby you in samples like some other places.

Self-serve yogurt & sorbet with endless selection of toppings. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Great taste at a reasonable price.
