Review Beque Holic - Gainesville

First time customer. What a learning curve. We decided to get the ayce (like most tables) . Each table cooks most of their food on a sunken round grill. Still not sure what sauces to use for certain meats. The servers were attentive but our main person spoke really fast during instructions. Some items were better than others. Leave it up to you to choose the meats/seafood although i would not get the squid. It was fun but now that I've had the experience we won't rush back. We were there for over two hours waiting for food and then cooking it. We weren't stuffed and stopped on way home for dessert.

My family was super excited to try this spot as we typically love a ‘cook your own meat’ styled restaurant. We were pretty disappointed in our experience for a few reasons. First, the service did not really correlate to the type of service you would expect at a place where you are spending at least $35 a person. It was somewhat unprofessional feeling and just not great service overall. Second, the meats were just underwhelming. The cuts were fatty and knives are not provided- so this led to a strange predicament for us where we had to attempt to use our teeth as saws to eat them, especially the steak… I don’t enjoy writing a bad review, so I will keep this brief, but just know when you are going to Beque Holic, do not anticipate a high end dining experience. I hope we just came in on an off day, but something tells me that we didn’t..

My friends and I went there for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy and were able to sit down immediately. Our waiter was amazing and very helpful so were the other staff who helped us. Majority of the food was really amazing! The creamy bulgogi, pork kalbi and the Korean fried chicken wings were my favorite! The drinks were good as well could’ve been a little bit stronger! The only con was some of the food was a little flavorless like the shrimp and NY Steak. And I also wish they had noodles. But other than that it was a really nice restaurant with a great atmosphere and good food. I would recommend going!

This place is unbeatable for the price you pay. It’s $30 for the Q option and you get to choose from so many meat selections and appetizers. The meat is also very fresh, not frozen like other KBBQ places. It’s kinda sad that they don’t have Corn Cheese and KFC Wings anymore but I think you can still get your money worth with the other appetizers. I will definitely come back here whenever I’m in Gainesville.

This place was a piece of heaven after we visited UF. Our waiter was incredibly nice, super knowledgeable and so observant. He would be at our table pouring our water before we even had to raise a finger to ask! They constantly are ready to change the metal on the grill and even when the place was packed we felt like we had full attention. We got all you can eat and it was definitely worth it. The steamed egg slid silkily with just the right amount of flavor and smoothness. The Korean fried chicken was crispy and hot and the crunch would peel away to gleaming tender meat inside. I loved the little side dishes and of course, the meat was delicious. It's all about how long you cook it for though, so half the experience is in your hands! (I recommend the marinated meats for a burst of flavor) Will definitely come back when we visit again!

We got the AYCE option, definitely recommend the beef bulgogi, it was really tasty and flavorful. Dumplings were fresh but not as tasty as it should be. I think overall it’s a little pricey for the quality and service they’re offering.

great food, great Soju cocktails, and Bradley is a great server. Beque is definitely a must stop spot if you live in Gainesville. (EDIT) Sadly, I have to edit my 5-star review to three stars. My GF and I come here almost once a week, but ever since Seoul Pocha opened up it hasn’t been the same. They no longer have the sweet soy sauce(by far the best sauce) or the original hot sauce that came with the oil and salt, which are two of the most popular sauces. They just have Gochujang, ssomjang, and a bland yum yum sauce. Corn cheese has been on the menu for over a year now, but they’ve never had it even once so idk why it’s still on there. Last time I went,(yesterday) the quality of meat seemed to go down. The Bulgogi was too thick, the brisket was fatty and hard to chew, and without a sweet sauce to balance the spicy and savory, the food is rather flavorless. KBbQ is supposed to be all about the meat and the sauce, but the offering of flavors is rather one dimensional now.

Through traveling back home from the holidays my husband and I wanted some Korean BBQ (one of our favorite foods and we stop and try everyone we can) Beque did NOT disappoint! The restaurant is very charming and dimly lit, which gave it a very intimate feel to an all you can eat place. Very romantic and great for a date night! The sides it came with we fantastic and many I had never had though I frequent Korean bbq often. The meat were perfectly sized portions and very fresh! So many options again I’m not used to seeing, like Korean fried chicken! Omg I LOVE Korean fried chicken! The service was spectacular and our waiter was so attentive and gave wonderful advise. The soju was served in the cutest glasses I’ve ever seen! And the mango soju just blew me away! Thanks you Beque for a wonderful experience and we cannot wait til next year to stop in agai

Spent my birthday here with friends. The manager kindly waived the $200 fee for the private room for us to eat there. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Love this place! It may just be my favorite dine in restaurant in town.

I love Korean food and must say the quality of this restaurant is equal to those I frequented when I lived in Korea. Food excellent, facility was beautiful, and staff was superb. Highly recommend this place.

We wanted to try Korean BBQ for the first time. We live in Jacksonville and there is nothing like it here. We were blown away by the experience. Everyone was so friendly and helpful explaining the menu and options. The AYCE is the best bang for your buck. I can’t wait to go back. All the food and meat was delish and fresh. Come hungry - you are going to leave full! My favorite was the beef bulgogi. Soo tender and tasty. The sesame sauce - sooo good. Try it all and enjoy! You’ll be back. Five stars for sure!!

It was pretty good. We liked the fact that we could try a variety of flavors with the all you can eat. Everything we had was good. The service Was ok. Nothing. Fabulous about the service but they have a lot on their plate to take care of several tables at one time. Would definitely go back.

Yummy Korean food...we lived in Seoul, South Korea 4 years and just came back and we already miss korean food. But this place is pretty good!

Mmmmmmm the Kalbi is definitely worth dishing out the $34 for the all you can eat option C. I've eaten Korean BBQ in a few places, including in Seoul, and to me this was as good as any of them. Service was very friendly although could have been slightly faster at times.
