Amazing flavorful food, I’ve been going to this place for about 5 years now and they’ve always been perfect every time, the employees are sweet and welcoming and it’s just overall a great atmosphere. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often but I am willing to drive a hour and a half to get a delicious meal from this restaurant.

Had a craving for chicken Kabos and found this place . You know is good when you open the door and all those flavors and spices hit you. I order the delux Kabob and humus as a side and they did not disappoint. I enjoy every single bite. This is a local run place and I liked that. They put their best foot forward in verything they serve . I will definitely come back .

I LOVE this restaurant. You can see them making their food right at the till, with a little grill, and yet, despite not being frozen or prepackaged, I cannot consistently rely on the food being fantastic each and every single time. If you come in dinner and order the chicken platter(my go to dish, and one of my all time favorites) you get 8 pieces of chicken which is a lot of food. I like to order some naan on the side as well, and I find that makes the dish amazing. This place also provides a large helping of rice with the platter, and I usually find that restaurants that provide rice on the side are doing it as some sort of filler so the platter seems more filling. Not this restaurant. The rice is surprising flavorful for its normal color, but I definitely recommend this place. The mint chutney and white sauce are absolutely fantastic as well, and while you don’t get a ton of them initially you can always ask for more containers of the sauce. This place is great if you eat chicken or other meats but do not come if you cannot eat meat because you will have at most 2-3 dishes, most of which are considered sides to an actual dish.

We stopped in to get a to go meal. Ended up getting the Kabob sampler. Absolutely fantastic. The meat was all moist and flavorful. Bread was crisp. Atmosphere is fairly plain and bare bones, but who cares when the food is this good.

Loved the people and the food. Very welcoming and funny! Their food is very reasonably priced and delicious. Will definitely be going again

Always great food. Usually get takeout as they don't have a liquor license and dining in is not fancy. Again the food is great and the staff are helpful. Love their superdish.

Great food. The owner is very nice and cooks the beat rice and kababs. Bread is great with kababs and white sauce.

We have tried other kabob restaurants in several states and never found a place as good as Afghan Famous Kabob. The kabobs are almost always perfectly cooked and not tough or chewy or dry the way some places are. Both the white and brown rice are very tasty and the side salad is nice and fresh. The chickpeas are absolutely amazing, by far the best we've ever had. I wish I had their chickpea recipe! We have loved this restaurant for almost 20 years and the food has been consistently good every time.

Been going to this place for over a decade now, and it has consistently delivered excellent food at reasonable prices. I've tried countless times to replicate some of these dishes at home, especially the naan, but nothing beats the real thing. All of the kabobs are outstanding, but don't sleep on the rice and chickpeas. Nothing beats scooping up a bit of each with a tear of naan and dousing it in the chutney, which is spicier than you think and provides exactly the kick you want. I no longer live in NoVa, but Afghan Famous is the first place I go anytime I'm back.
