This is a small barbecue joint in a bit of a strip mall, but it's worth the stop if you're in the area. The meat was juicy (I had pulled pork and the brisket), the sides were tasty (be forewarned, the collards had hot pepper flakes in them without warning, which I enjoyed but if you're not expecting it...), and they have a nice selection of beer. I splurged a little and got the Brunswick stew, and it was quite tasty, with a little kick.
I primarily dealt with one young lady behind the counter for ordering and delivery of my food, and she was very helpful and quite pleasant to deal with. This is the type of establishment that, in spite of its shopping center location, brings in regular customers - one of the folks behind the counter greeted a customer who came and sat at the counter by name, and seem to have an idea of what the customer regularly ordered.
Overall, it was a really good experience, even if a tad bit more expensive than I had expected (But I also don't get out much, so maybe that's the only rate these days...). If you want to try two meats, and have a beer, expect to spend along the line of $35 or so, but it was yummy.
4th of July Lunch. They were already sold out of brisket, chicken and ribs - no doubt it was fantastic. We opted for the Smokehouse Salad with pulled pork, pulled pork sandwich, pork nachos, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. All items were excellent and so much left over we have dinner and lunch tomorrow covered.
Had lunch here and was totally impressed. The brisket was juicy and the right amount of smoke. The burger was fantastic. Best collards I have ever had. This place has some of the best barbecue I have ever tasted, and I have tasted a lot. The Mac and cheese was very tasty and a generous serving.

Well prepared food and quick service. New to the area I was looking for some classic BBQ and saw this joint and decided to give it a whirl. I ordered the wings and they were a great size and cooked to perfection. My only gripe was with the sauce. You see this is really a regional thing but I prefer the TN sauce variation. This is not to say this was bad it is just not the red sweet sauce I grew up with so not my preference.
Enjoyable experience at The Bone. There are quite a few choices to make your experience top notch. They had an ample selection of local independent Brews to accompany your barbecue plenty of burgers to choose from and of course very enjoyable barbecue. I ordered the barbecue pork platter which included two sides. The barbecue pork was very good and the two sauces I enjoyed complemented it nicely. The sweet potato fries were unfortunately covered in sugar which made them extraordinarily sweet and the collard greens were a bit soggy although very tasty. It was my first experience at this location with plenty of parking on the corner of the Stonewall Shopping Center. It's not an easy place to get into or out of, but The Bone makes it worth a visit.
The pulled chicken sandwich was incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. Not dry at all. I got the collard greens as a side which were also great. Highly impressed. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back and have recommended to family/friends.
I've been wanting to visit The Bone for quite some time. Finally got the chance and Wow! I judge BBQ spots by how well they do brisket. I've had a lot of brisket at a lot of different places. This might be the best I've had! Perfectly smoked and prepared. Also had the Jalapeno and Cheddar smoked sausage. Also very good. Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. I'll definitely be back. Oh, the portion sizes are huge. Come hungry. I took half home and it was just as good the next day.
Great casual setting with all the classic BBQ meats and sides. Love the collard greens, although they are spicey. My kid loves the Mac and cheese. They offer Broccoli as a healthy side. Good beer choices. Friendly staff.
Just tried this place and it was awesome. The pulled pork was incredibly juicy and full of flavor. It had a good amount of bark. Their bbq sauces were awesome. The employees were very helpful and extremely kind and welcoming. The price of everything is what you would expect from a BBQ place. I will say this, with how good the food was it was worth every penny. If you stop in for a quick lunch a pulled pork sandwhich and 1 side will run you about 11 or 12 bucks which is a darn good price for the quality. I will be back for sure!
Food was good. Large portions, nice bbq atmosphere. Just a few issues, one of us had a bit dry brisket while the other was almost too fatty. Needed to add seasoning to most of it but overall good taste and service was great.

I'm new to the area and saw this spot by chance. We tried the sides that you see below as well as their sauces. I'm going to just say this..... I will be back to try more items on their menu. I would recommend giving them a try and mixing the brisket in their Mac and cheese and adding the habanero hot sauce to the collard greens.
The people that work here were very nice too.
After trying desert, I would like to give them a 4.7......WOW!
Cool atmosphere inside, nice variety on the menu. I had the BBQ stuffed potato. It was as big as. K2 Football. Plenty to fill up a grown man. The Mac & Cheese was good as well. The BBQ Brisket beans had good flavor, but by the time I ate the potato and Mac, I didn't have much room left for it. I would definitely order the Potato again. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

They've been VOTED the best barbecue in VIRGINIA for a very good reason! They're AMAZING! The best barbecue in the ENTIRE state!
I've never once been disappointed with the delicious BBQ and food that is served here. The smoked meats are very flavorful and tender and the sandwiches and burgers here are exceptional. My daughter said that their mac-n-cheese is on a whole other level and I couldn't agree more. Their homemade sides and sauces are on point and I love the create your own craft pack for beer. Undoubtedly one of the best BBQ places in VA with a great little atmosphere and awesome service too.
The minute I walked in the flavors, and smells of home cooked food, and barbecue drew me in for a quick bite. John, my waiter, was very knowledgeable about the menu, and hand crafted beer.
My food was delivered to my table along with their signature sauces! Watch out for the "HABANERO" barbecue sauce if you are squeamish. It is NICE!
Excellent fries as well!
I will return with friends and family for an evening meal or for a football game and cider!
Fantastic food. Buddy and I went in for lunch one day after work, spent a good little chunk of change, but kind of really good amount of food for it. Definitely recommend going here if you want some good authentic barbecue.
The Bone has an excellent variety of BBQ meats and classic sides along with an full drink menu. The service is fast and friendly. There are plenty of booths and tables available including a small bar area and outdoor seating. There is a self service drink area that includes Coke and Ice Tea. My favorite is the home made sauces which include a whiskey based sweet sauce, a mustard sauce and of course a hot version. If you get the brisket be sure to ask for extra bark!
The bone Gainesville, hands-down is the best barbecue place in the whole Dmv. The staff is amazing the owners management & staff are simply amazing. They go above and beyond for their customers so I will always recommend them
