The best compliment I can give this great place is that after 10 years I have finally found the best fried shrimp since leaving the Texas coast. Ever restaurant I have been to in Pennsylvania and Maryland have disappointed but not the Hen House.
My husband raved about the ribs he ate there, another great compliment.

Ate here for the first time this evening. The bread, chicken noodle soup, friend chicken and cheesecake were so delicious! We had two meals, a microbrew beer, a glass of wine, and shared a dessert and the total was just above $40. Awesome food and very good prices for the quality. Service was awesome, as well.
I’ve been to “The Hen House” two times in the last 6 months. I had seafood entrees both times along with cream of crab � soup, which was presented in a very mouthwatering way.Although both were different there was a variety of seafood that was cooked perfectly and delicious. I especially enjoyed the crab � cakes. Everything from the salads,homemade bread to the entrees were served by a very accommodating waitress. Bill and Edie from Bridgeport and Fairmont WV. I’m looking forward to returning there for Sunday brunch soon.�
This place gets a 5 Star on the waitresses. Lovely girls there, highly respectable people there. Great food, ever back in town, the spot to go.

Met family today for the brunch. It was sooooo good. Great variety of food topped off with a mimosa. Definitely will be going back.

We were there June 25 & I can't wait to go back! I had the cream of crab soup & crab stuffed shrimp. It was the BEST lunch I've ever eaten. We will go back again this summer for sure! Definitely worth the 4 1/2 hour drive for us to get there!
Server super nice. Chicken soup was very good, crab dip appetizer delicious, fried shrimp good, could use more seasoning, fried chicken very good but full of grease, stuffed shrimp was good but should be named smothered shrimp not stuffed. Even though my review says things could be better, the food was still good, in my opinion these things would just make them better.
I would have taken photo of my fried chicken, but it looked so good and delicious that I forgot. So here's the photo of the place. They are known for their chicken yum yum. Big serving for me so I took some home. And the service is excellent. Price reasonable.
My sister took me and my mother out for our birthdays for the Sunday brunch. I didn't even know they did this on Sundays. Everything was good but I wish there was a little more of a selection to choose from... Also, I was so excited to have some kind of seafood, I mean I hear Hen House and automatically think seafood but there was none offered. On a good note we had a very wonderful waitress. She was very knowledgeable about everything we threw at her, poor girl, lol. Great atmosphere, clean, great food, what could be better than all that... Highly recommend!
Sought this out after we found ourselves starving on the interstate. I had their classic fried half chicken and I could barely finish it. We had the crab dip as an app and it was great with their homemade tortilla chips. Highly recommend the stop for their home style cooking and friendly staff.
Was very happy with the menu, staff, and flavor of everything there. I got the cream of crab soup which was so savory and my husband got the Neptune Sampler. They need to work on their cocktails but it was over amazing food.
