Review Tomo's Japanese Restaurant - Fresno

I enjoyed the experience and the theme of the restaurant, but there was much to be desired in the food department. The food service time was a little high, but that was to be expected with the hiring/employee shortage. Pricing was competitive and the serving sizes were plentiful. Check it out for yourself and see what you think 😊 I will try it a few more times and a few more items and update my review.

My daughter recommended this place and it was a really good choice that we are here. She's a big fan of Ramen soups and I really enjoyed the bowl that I ordered. It was absolutely delicious. Only negative is that they're understaffed at the moment so wait times are kind of long but overall a great experience.

I ordered an order of egg rolls and spicy miso ramen. The service was quick and the waiter was very nice and prompt. Food was hot and came out quick. My only complaint was that their boiled eggs are made ahead of time and chilled so they were hard and cold, including the yolk. I personally like my eggs freshly prepared with the yolk being slightly under cooked.

Great Ramen shop. I love the aesthetics of the restaurant. My family is a big fan of anime and they love looking at all the artwork. For an appetizer I had the spicy chicken karaage, it was good but had too much sweet sauce and not enough spice. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen and it was delicious. The broth was savory and the noodles were amazing. All in all it was a great meal with reasonable prices.

They have signs saying they are short staff but when we went our service and wait time for food wasn't to bad. They have great service and the food was amazing. We will definitely be coming back again. If you like Ramen come on down and check them out. Kid friendly place. You can eat Ramen like Naruto.

Friendly staff, quick service, lived the decor. Food was good, but they were a little skimpy with the Korean sauce that came with my order. I'm give another try and update later.

Takoyaki was okay would be nice if there was more sauce on it. Service was awesome and love the art on the wall.

Disappointing. This is a popular place for local students but it was a disappointing experience for me. The miso ramen was absolutely tasteless. It seemed that they watered it down. They also did not season the pork or the egg. Seriously? You can’t include a ramen style egg for a $15 ramen bowl? The bar chairs were very small and uncomfortable. Waiting and trying to eat in those chairs was horrible. Maybe the quality of the food was bad due to the short staff. Regardless I will not be returning. I can make watered down ramen at home.
