Review Punjabi Dhaba - Fresno

Hidden Gem! Must visit! Love their Parathas! Good quality food, fresh ingredients used and they serve huge portions. 1 paratha here will be 3 parathas easy anywhere else.

I will go ahead with 4* just because of ambience… this is absolutely NOT recommended for dine in. If you are driving through CA99, please order ahead, pick up and have the food in any rest areas. Food and staff behavior - will go ahead with 4.7*

Good Indian food. When we went there, indoor sitting was not available, so we sat outside. There was lots of flies outside and the tables need to be cleaned. We ordered paneer pakora, chicken pakora, aloo paratha, tandoori roti, daal and tea. There is nine paneer pakoras in one plate. Aloo paratha is really huge in size,it comes with achar. They served onion, green chilli, curd and two types of chutney. Tea is good. If you go there, you can get similar atmosphere and food like any road side dhaba in India.

Just off hwy 99, we found this Indian dhaba...you truly get the dhaba food here! really tasty! And portions are huge, so order accordingly. We were so hungry that we first ate and then remembered to take some pics :) It is covid so there was no dine in option. They did have a couple of rustic tables and chairs outside but was too hot to have food there. When we first got here it looked small and in a trucking/industrial sort of area, not your typical strip mall so were little unsure but so glad we ordered coz again the food was great. We ordered 2 large lassi (Mango and Sweet). I think large really means two glasses since we got 4 total cups of lassi. We ordered one muli parantha which again was two parantha and each was like 15 or 18inch (huge). Paranthas came with real yogurt (not the typical restaurant raita kinds) in 16oz cup. Also ordered makki di roti (came as 2 qty 6inch each) and sarso saag, shahi paneer, butter chicken and garlic naan. My favorite was Shahi paneer. Note they call the 16oz cup as 'small', so we thought we will go with the bigger one for our family which is 32oz. So ended up with way too much food :) Hot and tasty food. Downsides were the location and wait time (they said 25min but ended up being 45 min...but for that fresh hot tasty food, worth it!)

We grabbed our lunch on our way to kings canyon. Took makki di roti and Palak paneer. The food isn't rich but tasty and homelike. As mentioned by others portion size is big. No indine but they have 3 benches on the side. We packed aloo paratha which were huge.

Great authentic punjabi food! Feels very homely. Gives that indian dhaba feel with the no fuss outside seating. Not a fancy place but definitely a place with great food! We tried out the salt lassi, aloo paratha and kadai paneer (which was more like butter paneer masala but really tasty!) We loved the saag paneer but makki ki roti was just about alright. Order ahead if you know what you want as they do take around 30-40 mins to prepare.

I went to Punjabi Dhaba today for the first time. Dine in was not available so I ordered to go. I ordered 2 aaloo parontha, 2 tandoori naan, chicken curry, and mango lassi. Food was hot (cooked on order) and delicious. Good Quality with gracious amount of food (size of paronthas and roti was more than I expected). Personally I like spicy food but this was normal spice level food which Suits to everyone's taste so I liked it. I would definitely mention the tandoori roti because most of the time tandoori roti becomes way too hard to eat after an hour or two but this tandoori roti was soft even after 3 hrs of packing . The best part was getting that Onion, Green chili, and mooli (white reddish) for the salad and Indian style curd (yogurt) and pickles for the parontha. ( I am Indian and these things are what you want when you go to eat outside). Customer satisfaction. I really enjoyed the meal. (PS: it’s not a restaurant, so expecting that decor and ambience will be wrong. order will take time so you have to wait for the food, and it works in kind of Indian way (phone calls in the middle, and a bit slow). Where you place order has no AC so it’s hot and has flies)😬 if you go with Indian Dhaba mindset, you won’t mind it.😂)

Be prepared to wait a least 45 mins for your order. The prices aren’t listed, so it’s a gamble if you are on a budget. I left and never got my order since my lunch hour was nearly over and I needed to get back to the work. I did notice most order were done via phone so that might be a better approach.
